Important Plow & Pulse update

Due to the tropical storm that passed through our area, continued heavy rainfall, saturated garden conditions, and the high chance of rain Friday and Saturday, we have decided to postpone this weekend’s Fall and Winter Garden Planting Day.

With over 150 people expected, including many children, we do not believe the farm will be safe or ready. Planting in waterlogged soil could also damage the rows and prevent our vegetables from growing properly.

The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 10, during the children’s fall break. This will give the farm and garden time to dry while allowing more families to attend without worrying about school.

Please share this update and personally inform any family members or friends who planned to attend. We want to make sure no one makes an unnecessary trip to the farm this weekend.

Thank you for understanding. The weather changed our date, but it will not stop the mission. We look forward to seeing everyone on October 10.

The countdown is on. We are only a few days away from getting these kids back in the rows.

September 5th, we are bringing them back to the farm for our Fall/Winter Garden Planting Day, and we are expecting around 60 to 80 kids.

They will be planting, learning about soil and plant health, spending time with the animals, fishing, taking hayrides, horseback riding , and making more memories together.

This is more than putting vegetables in the ground. It is teaching patience, responsibility, teamwork, where food comes from, and what can happen when a community comes together for its kids.

The rows are ready. We are getting ready. And I cannot wait to see that garden full of little hands again.

These boys were not coming to the pond to play around. They were getting their lines ready and looking for some hammers.

Bait on the hook, cork in the water, and everybody convinced they were about to catch the biggest fish in the pond.

That is the kind of competition we like at Plow and Pulse.

September 5 is almost here.

If your child is coming out for our Plow & Pulse Fall/Winter Garden Day, come ready for a real day on the farm. We’ll be planting, learning, fishing, meeting the animals, taking hayrides and spending plenty of time outside.

Please have the kids wear closed toe shoes, lightweight clothes for the heat, sunscreen and a hat. We’ll have plenty of water available throughout the day, and yes, they may come home a little dirty. That means we did it right.

We’re looking forward to giving these kids a day to learn, explore, get their hands in the dirt and see where food really comes from.
