“We knew something was wrong. We just didn’t know what.”

That’s something we hear from parents all the time.

A diagnostic evaluation is not about labeling a child.
It’s about understanding them.

When students understand how they learn, confidence grows. Anxiety softens. Progress becomes possible.

Right support. Right time. Real progress.

The last week of school brings celebration, and for many families, a quiet question:

What happens next?

At Groves, we know that without continued support, students can lose hard-earned progress over the summer. This is especially true for children with dyslexia and other learning differences.

The good news, you do not need to recreate school at home.

Start here:
✔ 10 minutes of reading a day
✔ Audiobooks to build language and comprehension
✔ Simple conversations that stretch thinking

Consistency, not intensity, protects progress.

Follow along this month for simple, research-based ways to prevent summer learning loss.

Your child is bright.
So why does school feel this hard?

If homework ends in frustration, reading causes anxiety, or your child says “I’m just stupid,” it may be time to look deeper.

A psychoeducational evaluation from Groves Learning Center can help uncover how your child learns, where they’re struggling, and what support can help them thrive.

Sometimes the biggest shift begins with finally having answers.

A recent NYT analysis described declining student achievement as a “generation-long decline,” not simply a pandemic setback.

For more than 50 years, Groves has supported students with dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and other learning differences through individualized, evidence-based instruction designed around how they learn best.

We believe many students are not struggling because they lack intelligence or potential, but because traditional systems are not designed for how they learn.

That’s why we focus on:
Structured literacy
Executive functioning support
Individualized instruction
Confidence-first learning

Because with the right support at the right time, students can thrive.
