🎉 Happy National Mascot Day to Doory… seriously it’s a thing!

While most mascots spend today taking photos and waving at crowds, Doory has informed us she plans to celebrate by spending yet another PTO day she definitely has not earned relaxing on the beach and being the center of attention for an entire 24-hour period.

In honor of National Mascot Day, Doory has one request: Skip the gifts and help kids instead.

Right now, a generous donor has agreed to match every gift to our Summer Match Campaign up to $20,000 through August 31. That means every dollar goes twice as far to support children and families impacted by foster care.

Doory loves confetti, beach days, applause, and apparently surprise PTO.

But even she agrees that helping kids is worth celebrating even more. ❤️

“We need to bring Jesus into foster care.”

But what if Jesus is already there?

What if Matthew 25 isn’t just a command to serve “the least of these,” but an invitation to recognize Christ among them?

The child entering foster care doesn’t need us to carry Jesus into their story. Jesus was there before the removal. Before the court hearing. Before the first night in a stranger’s home.

Our calling is not to bring Him where He is absent.

Our calling is to join Him where He is already at work.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
