These amazing young people are off to a strong start supporting the Raise Them Up Project through All Children Thrive (ACT)! 🙌🏽

They’ve already completed their Introduction to Policy & Systems Change and a two-part Data Series focused on Data + Digital Story Mapping. 📊🗺️

They’re learning how to use data, their stories, and their voices to advocate for change in their community—and we’re just getting started! 💪🏽✨

So excited to continue watching them learn, grow, and step into their power as young advocates and changemakers! 💙

Youth Leaders Forum: Keep It Going! is officially underway!

🚀 The final series of Youth Leaders Forum workshops, Keep It Going!, is officially underway!

This series helps young people build the skills to maintain momentum for their local policy-change efforts into 2027 and beyond. With many ACT project teams welcoming new cohorts, the series offers a chance to revisit key topics and explore new strategies for sustaining their work.

✨ What a day! On September 18, our Equity Advisory Group (EAG) came together at LA Voice's office in Los Angeles for a full day of connection, reflection, and planning.

We kicked things off with breakfast and conversation, then spotlighted the incredible work happening through LA Voice, one of ACT's funded partner projects making a real difference in its community.

From there, the group shared feedback on ACT's Legislative Report, broke into subcommittees focused on Youth Development, Coaching & Policy, Communications, and Data, and wrapped up by discussing what's working and where we're headed next.

Thank you to every EAG member who showed up ready to engage and help shape what's next for ACT. We're so grateful for this community! 💛

👋 Meet Lourdes Perez, Director of our ACT CA program. “I am a Public Health Advocate because I am committed to raising awareness about issues and mobilizing community leaders to promote civic engagement,” says Lourdes.

“My work has focused primarily on under-resourced communities who have been challenged by deficiencies, which have perpetuated unhealthy diets and inactive lifestyles. Being a Public Health Advocate means making the effort to ensure that all people have the right to a healthy lifestyle.” 🚸

Communities from across California came together—with live English/Spanish interpretation — to dig into what makes a story newsworthy, how to choose the right media outlets, and how to pitch reporters with confidence.

Big thanks to our ACT Communications Team and the incredible group of co-facilitators, breakout room leads, and tech support who made it run without a hitch — and to every ACT Community member who showed up ready to learn. We can't wait to see your stories in the news!
