🚨🚨🚨ANIMAL ABUSER ALERT🚨🚨🚨

Kiabtoom Lor is a Bulldog breeder here in Sacramento and, much to our shock and dismay, he’s gotten away with a slap on the wrist for purposely neglecting a dog to the brink of death.

Lor is also a realtor/broken and your regular “family next door” type… or so you’d think by looking at his social media pages. He is breeding and selling dogs under the name “Capital Bulldogs,” and we learned about him when he left a little maggot-infested dog on his porch to die while he and his family went on vacation a couple years ago.

The little dog was an underweight French Bulldog that we eventually named Abby—you may remember her from two years ago. Here is the link to her original post:

Abby had a pr*****ed re**um, was completely emaciated, and had maggots living in a wound on her back. Lor and his family left her on the front porch when they went on vacation because they “couldn’t get a vet appointment for her.” Abby crawled off the porch, dragged herself to a ditch at the front of their property, and laid there to die. Luckily, a neighbor found her and reached out to us for help.

Abby was rushed to UC Davis where we were told that she was in such horrible condition that it would probably be best to humanely euthanize her. We sensed that this little dog had a fighting spirit and, if there was any chance to help her live a great life, we wanted to give that to her. We asked the UC Davis doctor to proceed with what was ultimately a life-saving surgery. Because of all of you, we were able to raise the funds needed to get her the care she needed, and Abby was nursed back to health. She was eventually adopted to the perfect home and is living life as a pampered, beloved member of the family instead of a piece of property whose only purpose is to make her owners money through her suffering.

For TWO YEARS we have kept quiet about this and waited for justice to take its course…for the legal system to hold this heartless breeder responsible for the cruelty he inflicted on poor Abby. He was going to be charged with a felony, have to pay restitution for what we spent to save Abby’s life, and have a ten year ban on owning dogs. Or so we thought…

We have just learned that he is not being charged with a felony after all. Instead, he is pleading guilty to a misdemeanor and any existing animals in his possession are supposedly going to be removed. Except we have learned that he is circumventing that aspect of the “punishment.” Instead, he is selling his dogs off as quickly as he can (see attached photo. So, instead of these overbred and abused dogs being given any sort of justice from the hell that they’ve been suffering their whole lives as a result of breeding, they will just get sold off to the next piece of s**t backyard breeder to continue being exploited for profit.

And, supposedly, he has a five-year ban preventing him from owning animals. However, we have seen this before and have very little hope that anyone will be following up to ensure that he does not continue breeding. Instead, there will be no repercussions if he continues the abuse of these innocent dogs. Time and time again, we see just how broken our justice system really is, especially when it comes to protecting animals like Abby.

We are beyond devastated, frustrated, and disappointed with this result. The laws protect abusers. I have no doubt that I would get a more significant punishment if I “stole” one of his dogs to alleviate its suffering. And that is the reality that we are living in. Animals are considered property, nothing more.

We are so tired of these people: they mistreat innocent animals, get caught, and then the justice system turns a blind eye. We just couldn’t sit by and let this go without telling all of you what has happened. This man should not be able to continue profiting from this unethical breeding and willful neglect.

THIS is what you are supporting when you buy a dog from this breeder. Animal abuse, neglect, and outright cruelty.

This despicable criminal may have gotten away with what he did to Abby, and who knows how many other animals, but our hope is that his name gets out there in the community so he does not continue to profit from his crime.

Just because our system is absolute trash doesn’t mean people like this should get away with treating innocent animals so inhumanely, with no regard for their suffering.

We hope you are as outraged as we are and will take action through your social media contacts, and perhaps through your legislature, to stop this kind of injustice.

🎉🎉🎉ROLLO HAS LEFT THE SHELTER!!!🎉🎉🎉

This update took a little longer than expected because this little man had to stay at the shelter while he was getting over kennel cough.

He landed safely in his foster home and is doing fantastic!!! He will go in to have his eye removed and get neutered asap. For now he is safe and very loved thanks to his incredible foster family.

With consistency and patience, I am figuring out the whole potty situation. At my foster home, I have a doggie door and I do a really good job when I have access to the outside. I am still working on holding my potty through the night, and I do have occasional accidents in my kennel. I really am working on it though! Maybe we can work on a routine together?

DO YOU LIKE WATER?
I should not be participating in any water sports, that’s for sure! I am a Frenchie, which means I am better on land than in the water. Please keep me safe!

I have a wrinkly face, a cute underbite, and short, chubby legs. My coloring is fawn, and, in the sun, I glow like a beautiful star. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention my gorgeous light green eyes!

As I mentioned, I am watching my calories, so my foster parents feed me a good quality, low calorie kibble.

WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE?
I am the sweetest girl ever! One of my favorite things to do is cuddle with a human on the couch because I love the attention. Attention is really the thing for me…I want to be the center of attention, the star of the show, and the life of the party! I am still young, so I have a lot of energy for walks and playtime. Let’s play fetch or tug with my toys! 🎾

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY:
I am pretty chill in the morning and will wait patiently for my humans to start the day. After dealing with the morning business, I love to go for a walk or a car ride, followed by lots of couch cuddles and naps. After some playtime with my foster brother, we both like to bake in the sun like the potatoes that we are! In sum: naps, cuddles, playtime, and sunbathing would be the perfect day for me. ☀️

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY?
I love pretty much all the toys! Nibbling on my squeaky stuffies is the current favorite, though. 🧸

DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS?
Yes! I know how to sit and stay, and I will “go to apartment,” which is my fancy bedroom pen where I eat my meals and sleep. Oh, and perhaps my best trick is getting any and all humans to sit down on the couch and let me get up on their lap! I am an expert at that trick!

WHAT SCARES YOU?
Oh, I am definitely not a fan of loud noises. I am slowly making friends with the vacuum cleaner and the blender—but those things still seem pretty suspicious, if you ask me. To help keep me from getting too scared when I’m alone, my foster mom makes sure I am relaxed and comfortable by turning on the television with soft music. 🎶

HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN?
I have hung out with some older kids (over 12 years old) and I did very well. That was fun! I do tend to get excited and jump up on people to get their attention, so it would probably be best if I am in a home with older kids only.

DO YOU LIKE CATS?
I haven’t been around any cats, so I can’t say one way or the other. It is probably best that we stick to dog friends for me, thanks.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS?
I live with two other dogs in my foster home and we get along great. Introductions were taken slowly to set us up for a successful friendship, and I think that slow intros are key for me. It will help me to have time to get used to a new home, then gradually increasing exposure to any resident dogs in stages. I am playful and fun, and if we do this right, I will be an amazing friend for your dogs!

IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
I would be on the couch, lying comfortably right next to my human or, better yet, lying comfortably ON my human! I will fall asleep as the happiest little nugget in your arms!

HOW IS YOUR HEALTH?
I am a strong and healthy girl! After I get to my goal weight, I will just need to maintain it and we are good to go!

WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION?
I live with my foster parents, my foster brother Fez, and my foster sister Hazel. My closest companion is my foster mom, who is my cuddle buddy on the couch as she reads or watches television. 🥰

WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE?
I am really great in my “apartment” when my humans leave the house! I settle quickly on my bed and calmly wait for them to return.

WHERE DO YOU SLEEP?
I sleep comfortably in my cozy apartment. We have occasional slumber parties where we all pile into my foster parents’ bed, and I am such a good girl! I sleep through the night like an angel.😴

DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH?
I love walks! I get really excited to see my leash come out and then it is so much fun to get out and about in the neighborhood. Sometimes I will just stop mid-stride to spend some time taking in the amazing smells (who doesn’t love all the smells, right?). 🦮

DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
I mentioned above that it’s all about me getting all the attention, right? Yeah, that’s the thing. I have a habit of nibbling on fingers and jumping up on people when I greet them. I am working on not doing this because I know I should be sitting quietly waiting for people to pet me. It’s hard because I love people so much and want to get their attention right away. I hope to learn how to control my excitement better. I will benefit from a forever home that will continue to work with me on my manners and training for good behaviors.

ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)?
My foster parents make sure that I have access to the backyard on a regular schedule to help prevent accidents in the house. I’ve done great! I sleep through the night with no problem (yay, me!) and I will take myself outside if the door is open. But it is helpful to have a reminder to “go potty” because I sometimes get caught up in all the fun that is happening inside the house and forget to go out.

DO YOU LIKE WATER?
I don’t like the hose at all. But I absolutely love a warm, soapy bath. I get all blissed out to the point that I actually fell asleep while bathing the other day! 🛁

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY?
I love that my foster family makes me feel safe and loved. While I am learning good behaviors, they are so patient with my training. I feel very lucky to have a foster family that is helping me get used to a whole new, wonderful way of life.

I’m an IVDD survivor! I have recovered amazingly from surgery and just have a little wobble when I walk. So I use soft stairs to go up and down the couch, and I avoid hard stairs. And I do have those pesky allergies, so we gotta pay attention to what I eat so I don’t get the itchies. Typical Frenchie, right? 😋

WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION?
I live with my foster parents and two resident bulldogs. Some little humans come over sometimes and I love to hang out with them SO much!

I hang in my x-pen area or an extra large crate. I have enough room to stretch my legs.

I am a good girl in my crate, but I mostly love sleeping in the big bed with the humans. That’s the BEST! 🤩

WHAT SCARES YOU?
I’m scared of being left alone, so I cry when my human leaves me alone. But I’m starting to get more comfortable being alone knowing that it’s not for long. And I am also not a fan of fireworks…Big booms in the sky? No, thank you! 🎆

HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN?
I’ve met a few kids and they seem nice, but I’m a big girl so I think my excitement might be a little much for small kids. Older children only, please!

DO YOU LIKE CATS?
I see them on walks and they look fun to chase. I think I’ll pass on them as a playmate, though!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS?
I love hanging out and playing with my foster brother. I wasn’t so sure about him at first, but now he’s my best friend. With slow introductions, I will make friends just fine. Please set me up for success!🐶

IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
Right next to my human. I’m very loyal and lovable, so wherever you are sounds good to me! 💖

HOW IS YOUR HEALTH?
I am strong and healthy. Foster mom says I am perfect… and I think she is absolutely right about that!💪🏼

WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION?
I live with my foster mom, her brother, and my 100-pound pit bull brother. I love them all, but foster mom is my favorite.

WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE?
I really don’t like being left alone, but I feel alright as long as I have my buddy, my foster brother, to hang out in our very own room.

WHERE DO YOU SLEEP?
I am a good girl sleeping in my cozy crate overnight, but I would much prefer sleeping in your big bed with you! 😴

DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH?
Yes, I love walks and am SUCH a good girl on leash! I need to be reminded of my manners sometimes because there are so many interesting things to see out in the world and I get a little excited!🐕‍🦺

DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
I get anxious when I get left in my crate, so I scratch and lick at the sides too much sometimes. I can also be a little vocal when something startles me on a walk, but foster mom just tells me it’s okay, and I quickly realize there is nothing to worry about.

ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)?
Yes, I haven’t had a single accident in the house!😇

DO YOU LIKE WATER?
The rain is not for me, but I am a very good girl in the bath. I actually enjoy them!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY?
They spoil me with treats and cuddles, I get lots of time to play with my foster brother and there’s always a bone to chew on when I get tired. Also, we have a great neighborhood for long walks, which is so much fun for me! Oh…and my foster mom even takes me on car rides to get these things called pup cups! Yummy!😊

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER?
Now that I have been in my foster home for a while, I am ready to find my forever home so I can have more fun new experiences. Will you show me what life is like with a family of my own? 🥰
