To all the Mamas doing their thang…💜

Today we celebrate the women who wear every hat imaginable and still somehow keep the world turning.

You are a Doctor.
You are a Cook.
You are a Teacher.
You are a Taxi Driver.
You are IT support, Counselor, Protector, Advocate, Provider, Safe Space and WAYMAKER!

At ART-TISM, we especially honor the mothers, grandmothers, aunties, bonus mamas, caregivers and village women who love fiercely, advocate tirelessly and create spaces where children can shine exactly as they are.

Whether you birthed a baby or not, the world is our baby. 🌍💜

Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful women nurturing love, healing and community every single day.

❤️🖤💚
Much Love,
ART-TISM

Finding your way as a parent of a child on the spectrum can feel overwhelming… but you were never meant to do it alone. 💙

There is something powerful about being in a room with people who get it
Who understand the unspoken moments
Who celebrate the wins big and small
Who hold space for the hard days without judgment

That’s why we created ASD Parent Club ✨

A safe place to: Connect

And just be

No pressure. No expectations. Just community, support, and real conversations with people who truly understand your journey.

Whether you’re looking for resources, encouragement, or simply someone to listen… there is a seat for you here.

It truly takes a village… and this is what ours looks like 💛

Thank you to our incredible sponsors, collaborators, and donors who made the 5th Annual ART-TISM Interactive Art Exhibit possible. Because of your support, we were able to create a space where over 400 families came together to feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

You didn’t just contribute… you invested in inclusion.
You helped create safe spaces.
You helped build connection.
You helped bring joy, resources, and opportunity to families who need it most.

From funding and services to time, talent, and heart… every single contribution mattered.

✨ Special shout out to Councilmember Mai Vang for holding us down for 5 years in District 8. Your continued support and commitment to our community does not go unnoticed. We appreciate you.

We are deeply grateful for your partnership and your belief in this mission.

This is what community looks like.
This is what inclusion looks like.

With gratitude,
Valene 💛

And to my friends, family, and community—your word of mouth, your shares, your conversations… THAT is what brings people through the doors.

This is what it looks like when a community comes together to support, uplift, and celebrate our Auwsome Artists. 🎨

We are grateful. We are growing. And we are just getting started.

We have to take a moment to say THANK YOU 💙

… you didn’t just support the mission, you added to it in the biggest way. The care, the patience, the intention behind every haircut did not go unnoticed. You showed up for our families and we felt it.

To the barbers and beauticians… thank you for treating every child and family with dignity, gentleness, and love. That matters more than anything.

Shout out to for putting in the work. First time bringing in nail care and y’all did your thang. The smiles said it all.

And a huge thank you to Sacramento Valley Section for providing Colgate dental kits and making sure our families left with something they can use right away.

This is what community looks like.
This is what support feels like.

Powerful. Necessary. Right on time.

“Talkin’ Bout Autism in the Black Community” was more than a conversation… it was connection, truth, and community in action.

Thank you to every single person who showed up, leaned in, and added to the dialogue. These are the spaces we need… where we can be real about delayed diagnoses, barriers to access, and the lived experiences of our families while also lifting up solutions, support, and each other.

Special thank you to our host Underground Books for creating a space where these conversations can happen and be heard.

And to our panelists and moderator… thank you for your honesty, your expertise, and your heart. You made it safe for others to see themselves in the conversation.

This is what acceptance looks like.
Not just awareness… but understanding, action, and community.

We’re going to keep having these conversations.
We’re going to keep showing up.

Because our families deserve it. 💛

April has ended… but the work does not. 💙

This month we were seen.
We were heard.
We were recognized by the City of Sacramento.

And we are grateful.

Thank you to Councilmember Mai Vang for honoring Autism Acceptance Month and for standing with our community.

But let’s be clear…
Autism Acceptance is not a moment.
It’s not a month.
It’s a movement.

For our families, it is every single day.
The advocacy.
The support.
The fight for inclusion.
The celebration of our Auwsome Artists.

S/O to All the Organizations that show up for our families:

We carry this work forward… together.

Moments like this… you just had to be there. 💙🎨

The 5th Annual ART-TISM Interactive Art Exhibit was more than an event… it was a whole experience.

Smiles.
Connection.
Creativity.
Community.

This is what acceptance looks like.
This is what happens when we create space for our Auwsome Artists to shine.

If you were there, you felt it.
If you missed it… we got you next time 😉

Thank you for showing up and showing out 💙
