Town 25 North Historical Society Keeping alive Rosholt's pride in the past and developing faith in the future. Town 25 North Historic Malcolm was the grandson of the Village namesake, J.G.

In December 2012, Town 25 North Historical Society was organized to help preserve and share the rich history of the area of central Wisconsin that was originally known as Town 25 North. The organization aims to collect, organize and highlight the history of the Village of Rosholt and the surrounding areas - including, Shantytown, Galloway, Polonia, the Town of Sharon, the Town of Alban, and portio

ns of adjacent townships. The Rosholt area is blessed to have had a local historian, Malcolm Rosholt, who collected and recorded a great deal of history from the early days of the township through the 1950's. Rosholt. He was also a journalist who had unique skills, knowledge and a personal connection to the area which aided him in documenting the area's past. Malcolm wrote and published two books which share much of what he gathered - Town 25 North (a written retelling of the areas settlement and development) and Portraits of the Past (a photographic collection of local residents and their past times). He also wrote articles for the Stevens Point Journal for many years, most of which featured the Rosholt area. Malcolm interviewed descendants of the earliest local residents and drew upon his own family's history to paint a strong picture of what life was like in the infancy of settlement of Town 25 North. In 1948, Malcolm was the force behind the founding of the Rosholt Pioneer Museum, located in the Rosholt Fair Park (also known as Hill Park). The museum began with one building and now includes six buildings filled with historic photos, tools, furniture and memorabilia from the area. Town 25 North Historical Society intends to continue to build upon what Malcolm began in creating a lasting historic collection representing the fine people of the the entire Rosholt community.
