Mid-State Technical College is offering Emergency Medical Responder courses this fall! The cost of the course is free to you as a volunteer and we (and other services in Portage County) would love to have more volunteer First Responders join us! If you have any questions about becoming a First Responder and serving our community please reach out.

We were part of this response to this fire, and it was a great example of the efforts of the many fire and EMS departments in our area. Incidents like this demonstrate the hard work, training and commitment our EMS and fire personnel put into keeping our community safe and healthy. We especially appreciate our own Rosholt Fire District crew and thank all those who answer the call when needed.

Today we would like to recognize and thank the dedicated members of the Rosholt Area First Responders for their continued service, compassion, and commitment to their community.

Since 1992, they have answered the call day and night, providing critical care, comfort, and support during emergencies when people need it most. Their willingness to serve their neighbors with professionalism and heart does not go unnoticed.

EMS is more than a profession or volunteer service — it is a commitment to helping others during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We are grateful for the partnerships we share and for the countless hours these responders dedicate to training, response, and community care.

Thank you to all EMS professionals, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and first responders for everything you do to keep our communities safe and cared for.

Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is a reminder that emergency response starts long before we arrive on scene. It begins with the skilled professionals who gather critical information and guide callers through their toughest moments.

Great Job!!

4:45 p.m. Update - Power has now been restored to all members. We know that it was a trying time for those without power, and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the power restoration process. Our linemen and linemen from other electric co-ops worked countless hours restoring power. Many may think heroes wear capes, but our heroes are those in this photo, and we thank them for their hard work. We also thank all the companies who provided food or other things during the restoration process, as well as everyone else who contributed to the power restoration effort.

12:30 p.m. Update: An additional crew of linemen from Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative has been added to the power restoration effort. There is extensive damage to the electric grid in the areas still out of power and this takes time to fix. Linemen are working as fast and safely as possible to restore power.
