Have you followed Wisconsin Lions Foundation, Inc. yet? They are our parent organization, supporting Camp and four other statewide projects, and run several fundraisers a year. Speaking of fundraisers, come on down September 22 for a taping of the Mad Dog and Merrill show. There's grilling, there's comedy, there's music - and more! Register for free (at the QR code in the graphic) and purchase a meal. The day of the filming, enjoy a 50/50 raffle, wagon tours of Camp and a terrific show, all to benefit Camp!

When you head to the Brewers game on a Sunday, and the announcement for the anthem comes on. You stand up, look at the big screen and think to yourself - is that one of our campers?!? Congratulations Carter - your ASL presentation of the anthem was beautiful! Our campers are everywhere - doing great things!

Soul Sunday time! When you work at Camp, you make connections that are for life. It could be 5, 10, 20 plus years - but when you get together it's like no time has passed. These two camp staff met up at Camp again after working together in 1987 (they think). Fun fact, 1987 was the first year Camp Director Andrea attended Camp as a camper! Ann is now an amazing author and Russ is retired from a storied career in the camping industry. Thank you Ann and Russ for letting us share this photo!

Yesterday was quite an experience! For those that don't know, we were a host site for a Portage County Emergency Services Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training. While the scenerios were based around an active shooter, this same deployment of resources would happen for situations such as a tornado, fire or other large scale incident. We learned so much about the process, how we can improve, how we can support and enhance emergency response, and it was an amazing sight to see just how many people will respond to a call for help from Camp (or anyone in Portage County for that matter!).

We were also joined by a few camp professionals: Tom from Central Wisconsin Environmental Station, Trisha from YMCA Camp Alexander, Jessica & Morgan from Camp Anokijig and Elizabeth from Wisconsin Farmers Union whose participation added to the learning as well as gave them information on this process for their Camps.

Our sincere thanks go to the many agencies that were present:
Stevens Point Fire Department
Portage County Sheriff's Department
Plover Fire Department and Police
Stevens Point Police Department
Amherst Fire District
Sharon First Responders
Rosholt Area First Responders and Rosholt Fire District
along with the planning committee, trainers and several other agencies and people I am sure I missed. Thanks to our staff who participated and took on several different roles - we truly have a strong team here to make a difference to all those Wisconsin Lions Foundation, Inc. serves.

Finally, thank you to our local community and neighbors who all were patient with the increased traffic, loud noises, a helicopter landing and people running all around the facility! It truly takes a village, er, & Town! Enjoy these photos from the event!

Today’s the day! We’re closed for a training held with Portage County to learn, practice and partner with EMS, Fire, Police and county resources so we are able to fine tune our emergency plans and continue to build our working relationship with our county’s emergency services. We’re excited and a bit nervous but we’re ready!

Sunday night sunset photo time. One of our favorite photo spots is the top of the hill when the sun is going down - with the totem pole overlooking the lake. Today's sunset photo comes from Ella P taken on July 2.
