Join us on Saturday, November 7th from 10am- 2pm for Woodland Wonders, a family-friendly celebration of the rich diversity of life found in one of the park's most peaceful and vibrant habitats.
As a special treat, both Fort Bend Wildlife Rescue (10am-2pm) and Houston SPCA Wildlife Center (12-1pm) will be at our event with their ambassador animals.
Wander beneath towering native trees, discover the plants that sustain wildlife throughout the seasons, and learn about the fascinating birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and other creatures that call these woodlands home.
You'll also explore the important connection between the woodland and adjacent wetland habitats, where many resident and migratory birds find food, shelter, and nesting sites.
Visit interactive education stations where Texas Master Naturalists will introduce you to the woodland's remarkable flora and fauna—from native trees and understory plants and fungi to songbirds, raptors, wading birds, butterflies, dragonflies, reptiles, and other woodland wildlife.
Put your observation skills to the test with a Woodland Wonders Scavenger Hunt as you search for birds, leaves, seeds, feathers, tracks, insects, and other signs of life hidden throughout the sanctuary.
Create fun nature-inspired crafts to take home.
