Our advocacy team recently participated in the Trauma-Informed Support for Survivors of Domestic Violence training led by Jennifer S. Lyon from the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence( GCADV) at Gordon County Domestic Violence Outreach Office.

We are grateful for opportunities like this to continue learning and strengthening our skills to better support survivors in our community. Ongoing education helps us provide compassionate, survivor-centered services and deepen our understanding of the impact of trauma.

We remain dedicated to expanding our knowledge so we can better advocate for and support survivors every day.

We also understand that African American survivors are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence and often face barriers to accessing safety and support.

What an incredible two days!

Our team was honored to participate for the first time as a vendor at both the Women Veterans Engagement Event on Thursday, and the We CARE Vet Fair on Friday at the Forum!

A huge thank you to the organizers, United Military Care, volunteers, vendors, community members, partners, veterans, and their families who stopped by our booth. It was an honor to hear your stories, learn from your experiences, and share about the services and resources available for survivors of domestic violence.

Community is built one conversation at a time, and we are grateful to have been part of this meaningful Fair!

Hospitality House will be there with resources, support, and information for domestic survivors and families. It is an honor to serve those who have served us.

Did you know?
• 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner violence in their lifetime.
• Veterans may face increased risks related to trauma, stress, and barriers to seeking support.

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to rest without feeling guilty?

June is PTSD Awareness Month. Research shows that between 31% and 84.4% of domestic violence survivors may develop PTSD. Trauma can affect how we think, feel, connect with others, and move through everyday life.

Let's raise awareness, encourage open conversations, support one another, and stand with those affected by PTSD.

Remember, you are not alone.
