🇵🇰 RAHIM YAR KHAN | JUSTICE FOR THE BHEEL COMMUNITY

A woman from the Hindu Bheel community was killed and four others were injured in an armed attack near Chak 244-P, Rahim Yar Khan, reportedly linked to a dispute over government land.

The deceased, identified as Aagri Mai, reportedly suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Among the injured was Chokha Jee Bheel, who was allegedly beaten with sticks and sustained injuries to his mouth and teeth. Another person reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Police have registered a case against several nominated suspects and three unidentified individuals. According to police, the suspects fled before raids could be carried out, while the accused later obtained interim bail.

The Bheel community is calling for a transparent investigation, protection of minority residents, and justice for the victims.

Land disputes must be resolved through the law- not through violence, intimidation or forced displacement.

A woman from Mithi, Tharparkar, who says she recently embraced Islam and changed her name from Kajal to Salma, has married Asghar Ali at the District Court in Mirpurkhas and appealed to police for protection.

In her affidavit dated August 21, 2026, she states that her conversion and Nikah were voluntary and without force or pressure.

Given the sensitive history of conversion and marriage cases in Sindh, the matter should be investigated fairly and independently. Her stated choice must be respected, while any allegation of coercion, abduction or underage marriage must also be properly verified.

🇵🇰 Lahore: Christian Woman Reportedly Abducted, Allegedly Forced to Convert and Marry

A 25-year-old Christian woman from Youhanabad, Lahore, identified as Josam Bashir, was reportedly abducted on August 13, 2026. A sorces report alleges that she was subjected to sexual violence, forcibly converted to Islam and married to one of her alleged abductors.

The report also alleges that police at Nishtar Colony Police Station have not provided adequate assistance to her family.

The case highlights ongoing concerns over allegations of abduction, forced conversion and forced marriage involving religious-minority women and girls in Pak.

Mirpurkhas: Two couples from the Gargalla community of Nawabshah have appealed to police and other authorities for protection, saying they are facing threats from relatives following their marriages by choice.

The couples, Anita and Raja, and Nisha and Parvez, appeared at the Mirpurkhas Press House and alleged that family opposition has forced them to live away from their homes due to safety concerns.

They appealed to DIG Shaheed Benazirabad, SSP Nawabshah and other authorities to take notice, investigate the alleged threats and provide them with protection according to law.

According to documents reviewed, a Umarkot resident formerly known as Ajay Bhil voluntarily embraced Islam on 10 June 2026 and adopted the name Muhammad Hassan, as recorded in a Certificate of Acceptance of Islam issued by Dar-ul-Uloom Ahsan-ul-Barakat.

A separate Free Will Affidavit submitted by Mst. Baby, daughter of Muharram Ali, states that she is an adult and wishes to marry Muhammad Hassan of her own free will. The affidavit further declares that she left her home voluntarily and was neither kidnapped nor coerced.

Documents also include a reported statement from Muhammad Hassan's family saying they have severed ties with him following his conversion and have sought protection, alleging harassment. These allegations have not been independently verified, and no official police statement or court ruling confirming them has been made public.

The report is based on copies of the conversion certificate and affidavit. Any legal proceedings or disputes remain subject to the findings of the relevant authorities and courts.
