What could your child find in Cub Scouts?

Maybe it’s the confidence to try something new.

Maybe it’s a group of friends to laugh, learn and explore with.

Maybe it’s more time outdoors, away from screens, doing something together as a family.

Cub Scouts gives kids a place to have fun while building skills, independence, character and a sense of belonging. Pack 582 offers camping, Pinewood Derby, outdoor adventures, service projects, games, building activities and plenty of opportunities to simply be a kid.

Come see what it’s all about at our Ice Cream Social. Kids can meet one another and try some activities while parents talk with Pack leaders and get their questions answered.

Good morning Scouts (and parents)!

For those of you who are in Kindergarten (Lions), we hope your first day the best day ever (hope the mom's and dad's do ok too ;) )

For those of you who are in grade 1-5 (Tigers, Wolf, Bear, Webelo and AOL), we hope your first day is also awesome (and mom's and dad's get to celebrate a bit, the end of summer schedules :) )

Here’s to new teachers, new friends, new experiences...and hopefully a little adventure along the way.

To every student starting a new year today: be curious, be kind and don’t be afraid to try something new.

That sounds a lot like Cub Scouting, too.

New backpacks. New teachers. New routines. And maybe…a new adventure.

As families get ready for the first day of school Tuesday, it’s also a great time to think about what you want your child to experience outside the classroom this year.
- More confidence?
- New friendships?
- Time outdoors?
- Learning practical skills?
- Doing things together as a family?

That’s what Cub Scouts is built around.

If you have a child in Kindergarten through 5th grade, Pack 582 would love to meet your family this fall.

Pack 582 is kicking off the new Scouting year with an Ice Cream Social...and families interested in learning more about Cub Scouts are invited.

Kids can enjoy ice cream, meet other Scouts and try a few activities while parents meet our leaders, ask questions and learn what Cub Scouts looks like for their family.

“Cub Scouts sounds fun…but how much time does it take?”

Fair question...Families today already have school, sports, work, activities and a calendar that can fill up fast.

Cub Scouts is designed to fit into family life, not replace it.

Your child participates with their den and Pack, and your family can choose the additional activities and adventures that work for you.

And unlike many kids’ activities, parents and siblings get to be part of the fun too.
- You don’t have to know how to camp.
- You don’t need Scouting experience.
- You don’t have to own a bunch of gear.
- You just have to be willing to come see what it’s about.

Sometimes the best thing your child finds in an activity isn’t the activity.

It’s their people.

Cub Scouts gives kids the chance to build friendships through shared adventures...working together, laughing together, helping each other and trying new things together.

For some kids, making friends comes easily.

For others, having something to do together makes all the difference.

That’s one of the things we love about Pack 582.

Adventure brings kids together.

Friendship keeps them coming back.
