The Angela Blake Foundation hosted a Children & Family Safety Workshop focused on equipping families with resources, knowledge, and practical strategies to help keep children safe and thriving.
One of the highlights was hearing from Dr. Obehi Okojie of Transformative Pediatrics, who shared insights on a rapidly evolving challenge facing families today: navigating AI and digital information responsibly. A key takeaway from the discussion was that AI can be an incredibly useful tool, but it is not always a reliable source of truth. AI systems are designed to generate responses that are helpful and relevant, which can sometimes result in information that sounds convincing while being inaccurate or incomplete.
As AI becomes more integrated into daily life, helping children and families develop critical thinking skills, verify information, and evaluate sources is becoming just as important as teaching traditional safety skills. Thank you to Dr. Okojie for sharing expertise.
