Anni's Army Foundation Anni's Army Foundation was started by Mark and Lynn Meier to honor their daughter Annika.

Annika, or Anni, was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumor on June 30th of 2021 and gained her angel wings on May 5th of 2026.

After Anni passed we were blessed with multiple trees and hydrangeas to plant in her honor. Two of the trees are PrairieFire Crabapple and the other is a Multi-Trunk Eastern Redbud. The hydrangeas are Fire Light. They all bloom dark pink. The trees in May (fitting šŸ©·) and the hydrangeas in mid to late summer. It was some work to create full sun areas on our property. But we finally got everything planted today. Anniā€¦hope you enjoy them. We miss you more than you know šŸ©·šŸ©·šŸ©·šŸ©·šŸ©·. Thank you Scott and Justin for the help this morning.

June 3, 2026 - Anniā€™s Army Foundation recently provided $1,000 in Visa gift cards to help cover gas expenses for the family of a six-year-old pediatric brain cancer patient at Helen DeVos Childrenā€™s Hospital. Like Anni, this young boy was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. He received treatment here in Grand Rapids, but now must travel to Ohio for further treatment. We hope Anniā€™s Gift provides a sliver of relief to this family so they can focus on their childā€™s battle.

There have been things that have been hard the past four weeks. Some we expected and some we did not. Today was a rough oneā€¦watching Anniā€™s van ā€œStormyā€ head to Texas. We know itā€™s the right thing to do and we pray it brings ease of use, safety and joy to the new family. But it was built for Anni. 20,000ish miles of watching her in the rear view mirror singing and smiling. When our eyes metā€¦her smile got even bigger. Since Anniā€™s passing, there have been so many special moments honoring her. From all the Rockford sports teams wearing some sort of pink. To moments of silence and the special pins worn by the 2026 graduating class you see pictured. Iā€™m sure we missed someā€¦but thank you all. May 31, 2026 - Anniā€™s Army Foundation recently supported two pediatric brain tumor patients and their families via Anniā€™s Gift, marking seven awards in 2026 and 34 since the programā€™s inception.

The first recipient is a 14-year-old who is undergoing treatment for a glioma here in Grand Rapids at Helen Devos Childrenā€™s Hospital. Anniā€™s Gift was requested to support her parents by way of two auto payments and two auto insurance premium payments due to loss of income while her parents are by her side.

Further, we are honored to have been able to assist with funeral costs for a young man from the east side of the state who passed after a three year battle against diffuse midline glioma. We pray Anniā€™s Gift provides comfort to the family as they mourn their loved one.

Although Anniā€™s Gift was formed to support families facing financial hardships that often come with a cancer diagnosis so they can focus on the care of their loved one during their active fight, we understand the need and are committed to being present to support families when the battle heartbreakingly comes to an end as well.
