Sometimes it feels like the challenges just keep coming... but so do the blessings.
Many of you remember that last year the Rochester Salvation Army suffered a devastating flood that destroyed our basement and wiped out many of the supplies we depend on for our social service programs, including our annual Back-to-School Bash.
As we eagerly prepare to serve local children and families on August 15, we were hit with another unexpected setback. Just two days ago, our sump pumps sprang a leak, damaging more of our school supplies. It would have been easy to feel discouraged.
But then these three incredible young ladies reminded me why we never give up. ❤️
Today, they gladly gave their time to help make a last-minute shopping trip for replacement school supplies. They laughed, worked hard, and showed what it truly means to have a servant's heart. Watching them choose to spend their day helping others instead of thinking about themselves was inspiring.
These young volunteers are proof that the next generation is full of compassion, generosity, and hope. They may not realize it yet, but they are making a lasting impact on children in our community who will walk into school feeling confident and prepared because of their kindness.
Please help me recognize these three amazing girls for stepping up when they were needed most. 👏❤️ They deserve to know their willingness to serve matters.
If you'd like to be part of making this year's Back-to-School Bash a success, there's still time! Whether it's donating school supplies, volunteering your time, or simply sharing this post, every act of kindness helps us ensure local children start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for continuing to stand with the Rochester Salvation Army through every challenge. Together, we are proving that setbacks may slow us down—but they will never stop us from serving our community.
