Northern Indiana Community Foundation Where Giving Grows Since 1993, the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, Inc. The NICF serves the Community Foundations of Starke, Fulton and Miami Counties.

(NICF) has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community. This arrangement allows us to maximize our investment benefits and be more cost-efficient. Thus gifts can do more for the counties they are given to. The NICF is a public trust, a public charity that gives donors flexible and tax-effective ways to ensure their charitable giving. Operating under state

and federal laws, we work to build substantial endowment funds for our community through contributions large and small. Gifts to the Community Foundations of Starke, Fulton, and Miami Counties are seeds that grow funds for the betterment of the community they are given to. The Community Foundations make giving simple and offer a variety of ways for caring community members to make a lasting impact. Our Pledge To You:

Summer scholarship applications are now open through the Miami County Community Foundation!

Scholarships are available for students pursuing careers in:

✔ Nursing
✔ Veterinary medicine
✔ Music
✔ Graduate studies
✔ Higher education opportunities

…and more.

There are also opportunities available for non-traditional students returning to school or training programs.

📚🔎 Rochester High School senior English students explored Agatha Christie’s mystery novels thanks to a $2,000 FCCF Literacy Grant through the Marian Dyer Literacy Fund.

The unit brought literature to life through group discussions, writing, and creative podcast projects, boosting engagement, critical thinking, and a lasting love of reading. 🎙️✨

It’s Scholar Spotlight Sunday! 📚✨

Congratulations to Allyson Calloway, the 2026 recipient of the Galen Smith Memorial Scholarship!
Allyson graduated from Rochester High School and will be attending Olivet Nazarene University to study nursing as well as continue her cross country and track careers.
A fun fact about Allyson is that she enjoys attempting to learn and play a variety of songs on the piano. 🎶

The Galen Smith Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 to honor long time basketball coach and mentor, Galen Smith. Galen taught for 32 years at Rochester Community Schools. He totaled 46 years of dedicated service to his students, parents, and colleagues. Coach Smith was an esteemed role model, admired by his students and respected by his peers.
