Today is the last day of our Fall 2026 Virtual Blood drive, and we want to thank everyone who has donated this week for giving, so that others can live. What you do is of critical importance, a point that was made incredibly real for our Lodge one year ago tomorrow.

On Monday, September 22nd, 2025, our Secretary, Brother Thompson, took a picture of himself giving the first donation of our Fall Virtual Blood Drive. He gives as often as possible, knowing how important it is to helping others when they need it most. At the time, he couldn't have known that his family was about to be the ones in dire need.

On the morning of September 26th, 2025, at approximately 7:00am, while taking his children to day care and school, Brother Thompson's vehicle stopped in traffic when another vehicle collided with it at fifty miles per hour. The force of the impact broke his seat, pinning his three-year-old daughter's head between her car seat and his headrest. The resultant fractures caused a stroke in the left side of her brain. She was life-flighted from the scene to HSHS St. John's Hospital, where she undertook emergency neurosurgery to save her life.

The incredible efforts of the emergency service personnel and passing-by experts, coupled with the life flight service, and finally the tremendous skills of the neurosurgery team helped save the life of his daughter six months ago, today. And, without the selfless donations of people such as yourself, she would not be here today.

While Brother Thompson will never know who donated the blood that saved his daughter's life, he and his family will be forever grateful to those individuals.
Please, come in to the ImpactLife Donor Center at 1999 Wabash Avenue in Springfield and help save a life. You never know when that life might truly be someone close to you.

So we, the Brethen of Tyrian Lodge No. 333, thank you deeply for your support and donations throughout the entire year. Please, donate as often as you can - you never know when the person who needs it might be the person you tuck in at night and says, "I love you, daddy."

Last night was an incredibly long and late night for us, but it definitely paid off for these two newly-mintwd brother Master Masons!

Thank you to everyone who came out to make this special night happen. More especially, a great many thanks to those brothers who dropped everything, last minute, and answered the call. Without you, last night may very well have not been a success.

Tyrian's Fall 2026 Virtual Blood Drive continues today, as we partner with ImpactLife Blood Center to help serve our community, pint by pint.

Tuesday morning, after dropping his children off at school, our Lodge's Secretary took over an hour of his time to drive up to Springfield and donate, before reporting to work. Brother Thompson has been a blood donor for many years, and coordinates our Lodge's semi-annual blood drives.

During the Fall 2025 Virtual Blood Drive, last year, the importance of these drives became all too real for he and his family. More on that tomorrow.

Please, even if it's difficult or scary, it's one of the safest and easiest ways to save a life. Come out and donate at the Donor Center located at 1999 Wabash Ave, Springfield.

Tyrian's Fall 2026 Virtual Blood Drive has reached Hump Day, and there's still plenty of time to get in for your donation!

Did you know that when blood is donated, it's not immediately available? A pint of donated blood takes twenty-four to forty-eight hours before it becomes available. Why the delay?

After blood is donated, it is first separated into its base components: red blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Each of these is then tested for infectious diseases, for the safety of both the recipient and the staff administering the transfusion.

A donation taken on Monday has only just become available for use this morning. The red blood cells can be used for another forty days, while the platelets only have a few more days to be used. The plasma, however, can be frozen and stored for another year.

Please, visit ImpactLife's Donor Center at 1999 Wabash Avenue, Springfield, and help keep the blood bank in supply. You never know whose life you might save this weekend.

This Brother has worked for our Fraternity far longer than he has been a member, and has already demonstrated great ability and dedication to all of the Brethren he has assisted in his work on behalf of IMOS.

Today is the second day of Tyrian's Fall 2026 Virtual Blood Drive, and we're hoping you'll find your way to the ImpaceLife donation center to help save a life (or three)!
