Register today for The Watermelon 5k....The Sweetest Race Around happening on July 1st at 7:30 am in conjunction with the Village of Rochster's annual Sparks in the Park celebration. Award trophies for overall 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd male and female. Medals for


Net proceeds from The Watermelon 5k will go to fund the important work of the Cochlear Implant Awareness Foundation (CIAF), a 501

(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Formed in 2006 , CIAF connects people with the information and resources they need to make an educated decision about cochlear implant surgery, and offers guidance and support to people who choose to become recipients. For more information, visit www.ciafonline.org

CIAF was founded by local resident Michelle Tjelmeland who knows firsthand the challenges and issues faced by individuals and families impacted by hearing loss. But, through bi-lateral cochlear implants, both have received the gift of hearing. CIAF provides the support Michelle wishes she had when facing important decisions concerning cochlear implant technology. Through our continuing research and connections to the medical community and cochlear implant manufacturers, CIAF is an important resource for those encountering the challenges of hearing loss and seeking solutions.

🍉🍉🍉One of the most amazing things about the Watermelon 5/10k race on Saturday was seeing so many area jr high, high school and college students running with their teammates and coaches. Talk about camaraderie! We are still overwhelmed with 454 runners who participated to support our mission to help more people hear. 🍉🍉🍉
