L5 Youth Ranch

L5 Youth Ranch L5 Youth Ranch: Changing Futures and Saving Lives! Through hands-on experience, we teach kids the value of life, family, faith, and trust.

At L5 each child is paired with one horse and one leader and given a private session that best serves their individual needs. Instead of being lost in a group, each child is nurtured by a leader who shares in their private tears and victories. The sessions are not focused on a rigid impersonal schedule but rather on relationship based individual need. Sometimes they may want to ride, sometimes jus

t to brush a horse and share with someone who won’t judge them. Other times a child might just need to do some “ranch work” to release some energy or learn lessons in the round pen that can be incorporated into their personal life. Our focus is on what the child’s need is at that particular time in their life. There is no cost for our program., we are free to any child in need. Any child can come out while the ranch is open, however individual sessions are by appointment only. Please contact us and we'd love to see you!

Give to Lincoln Day is coming May 28th. Please consider donating to the L5 Youth Ranch. Giving begins May 1st. We could like to add a round pen to our program this year. What happens in a round pen? Bonding! Often called “joining up,” this process allows the horse to choose connection rather than distance. By using body language and guiding the horse’s movement, the child learns to lead with confidence while earning the horse’s trust—creating a meaningful and lasting partnership.

Give to Lincoln Day, powered by Lincoln Community Foundation, is a time when Lincoln comes together to support the organizations that enrich our lives and improve our city.

I would like to introduce our 2 new friends. Titus - He is a 12 year old - Sorrel gelding that stands 15 hands. He is a kind, gentle spirit that will soon be a kid favorite. Jasper is a 12 year old Bay gelding that stands a little over 16 hands. He also has a gentle spirit and a kind heart. We are so excited to have them at the ranch and can't wait for kids to come see them this summer.

Today is a day that I have to ask God, Why? I ask Him to help me understand and to ease the pain and grief that is real. The last 4 years have been hard for the ranch with the loss of 2 of our horses Smoke and Gus. Today we are saying goodbye to the 3rd, Thumper. My heart is broken. Thumper was diagnosed with EPM last spring, which is a neurological disease caused by the ingestion of opposum f***s. He had a very aggressive treatment last spring which stopped the progression. About a week ago, we knew something was wrong, but couldn't determine for sure what it was but had been treating him with the assistance of our vet. We thought we had turned a corner and he was getting better. God's plan is not always our plan. I know in my heart that he has been reunited with his buddies in Heaven. He loved to be brushed, he loved to be ridden and he loved the kids who loved him. He will be missed so much.

Calling all friends and family!!!!! Give To Lincoln Day is here. For the L5 Youth Ranch this is our big day for donations. The L5 pairs 1 horse with 1 child to build trusting bonds and foster healing for both the child and the horse. Our goal this year is $3,000.00. We are a third of the way to our goal. It would be AMAZING if we could surpass our goal. A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated. Like and share this post all day today. Visit our Give to Lincoln page at

Give To Lincoln Day is coming! Donations are being accepted now. I am asking all my friends and family to prayerfully consider donating. Donations can be made at https://givetolincoln.com/nonprofits/l5-youth-ranch

The L5 provides a unique and safe place for kids and horses to foster hope and healing that will ultimately change their lives. At the L5YR each child is paired with one horse and one leader and given a private session that best serves their individual needs. Instead of being lost in a group, each child is nurtured by a leader who shares in their private tears and victories. Through hands-on experience, volunteers show kids the value of life, family, faith, and trust. The sessions are not focused on a rigid impersonal schedule but rather on relationship based individual need. Our program is free of charge to any child in need and funded soley through donations.

The L5 has a huge goal of $10,000 this year. With these funds the L5 would like to bring back 2-3 day camps, purchase 2 horses to add to our program, provide each child who comes to the ranch with a t-shirt, along with purchasing hay, feed, vet care, insurance, etc.
