Meet , our Grantee Spotlight for September! Since 1976, the Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, Inc. (DAP) has helped survivors of domestic violence find safety, support, and pathways to self-sufficiency. DAP offers free and confidential support, including a 24/7 crisis hotline, safe housing, legal advocacy, case management, court accompaniment, and community education. In 2024, Project W awarded a $35,000 grant to DAP to fund critical Safe House repairs and help ensure that survivors and their children have a safe, secure, clean, and dignified place to begin healing and rebuilding their lives. Project W is proud to shine a light on the incredible work DAP is doing for Delaware County!

We’re thrilled to spotlight Elizabeth, who moved to Swarthmore in 2019 and joined Project W this January after being encouraged by fellow member Jeannine Anckaitis. She jumped right in, joined our Family Grant Committee, and fully embraced all parts of the new experience. We’re so glad to have Elizabeth as part of Project W and look forward to seeing her at more events this fall!

Project W is proud to support , who stand beside children navigating the child welfare system. CASA received a $30,000 grant from Project W in 2025. Our June newsletter shared about the journey of a young girl named “Maya,” and her CASA Advocate’s dedication to providing a consistent voice and stability.

Well Rooted received a grant from Project W this year to support their mission to help those affected by the foster system establish roots. Join them at their ribbon cutting event on July 29th in Media to witness the amazing work they are doing.

In case you missed our post yesterday.. we are so excited and had to say it again! We are happy to announce that Well Rooted is opening TWO apartments for young adults aging out of foster care! 🏡💚

For many young adults, aging out of foster care means facing adulthood without the support system most of us take for granted. These apartments will provide more than just a place to live—they'll be a place to plant roots, build stability, and take the next step toward independence.

Now we need your help to turn these apartments into homes.

We are proud to announce that Project W awarded $60,000 in grants to four outstanding Delaware County nonprofits at our 2026 Annual Grant Awards Celebration! Congratulations to Well Rooted, Teachers' Teammates, Wesley House Community Corporation, and Fred's Footsteps for their impactful work supporting women in our community. Since 2019, Project W has contributed more than $556,500 in grants and donations, thanks to the generosity and commitment of our 124 members. Together, we're creating lasting change for women across Delaware County.

At the institute of technology Award Gala last night, Project W founders Kim D’Ambrosio, Soly McLaughlin, and Lauren Sustersic proudly received the Jayne Garrison Community Service Award.

It was especially meaningful to celebrate alongside so many Project W members and supporters who continue to champion our mission every day.

Thank you to P.I.T. for recognizing Project W’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for women throughout Delaware County. We are grateful for the partnership, encouragement, and shared dedication to strengthening our community.

Our members make great things happen!

Like awarding $60,000 in grants to organizations: $17,000 each in Health, Family, and Education categories and a $9,000 grant to the Small Grants category.

Join the members and friends of Project W at our Grant Awards Celebration as we celebrate our eighth year of honoring deserving organizations that serve women throughout Delaware County.

We’ll begin with a reception and mix and mingle followed by an award recognition program.
