Did you know? 🤔

Studies show that acts of kindness are contagious! When someone experiences kindness, they are more likely to pay it forward to others, creating a ripple effect that can impact an entire community. ❤️

At Delco Helping Hands, we see this happen every day. A donated package of diapers, a volunteer’s helping hand, a bag of pet food, or a kind word can inspire someone else to give back in their own way.

✨ One act of kindness may seem small, but together those acts create big change.

Our 5th annual Family Fun Day and Resource event is coming up in 2 months and we need your help!

Family Fun Day Volunteer Opportunities 🎪🎨🏀

We need lots of helping hands to make Family Fun Day a success! Volunteers can assist with:

🎈 Toddler Area

* Supervise toddler play stations
* Help with simple games and activities
* Assist parents as needed
* Keep the area clean and safe

🎯 Carnival Games

* Run game booths
* Explain rules to participants
* Hand out prizes
* Help keep lines organized

🎨 Craft Tables

* Set up craft supplies
* Assist children with projects
* Refill materials throughout the event
* Help clean up completed crafts

🏀 Basketball Games

* Organize participants
* Keep score
* Assist with contests and challenges
* Hand out prizes or giveaways

🎭 Face Painting

* Face painters
* Assist with sign-in and line management
* Help sanitize supplies between participants

🪑 Set-Up Crew

* Set up tables and chairs
* Put up signs and decorations
* Organize activity stations
* Help vendors and community partners get settled

🧹 Clean-Up Crew

* Break down tables and tents
* Collect trash and recyclables
* Pack supplies and equipment
* Leave the space clean and ready for the next use

Whether you can volunteer for one hour or the entire event, your help makes a difference! It truly takes a village to create a fun and memorable day for our community.

Here is our monthly calendar of events and activities.

📅 June 9th☕ Cafe of Kindness – Amanda Hawkins will have a table set up for our New Moms Program for those who have signed up.

🧴 Teen Hygiene Giveaway – Available for Community Pantry clients. Registration is required so we can ensure we have enough supplies for everyone. Teens must be present to receive items. (For those who have not received a hygiene giveaway within the last 3 months.)

🌽 June 25th🎉 Farmers Market Pop-Up – Join us for a special event celebrating their 3-Year Anniversary!

🎂 June 27th💙 Pauline Butcher Birthday Give Back Celebration from 12 PM – 2 PM, right before pantry opening. Come celebrate by helping us give back to the community!

June 28th Delco Helping Hands turns 4 years as a NonProfit.

❤️ Community Pantry Update ❤️

Last night we served 34 families, bringing our monthly total to 128 families served — and that’s with us being closed for 2 Saturdays this month!

The need in our community continues to grow, and our shelves definitely felt it this week.

🍼 Formula Needs:
• Almost out of Similac Advance
• Completely out of Enfamil AR
• Running low on several other commonly used formulas

🐾 Pet Food Needs:
• Cat food took a major hit
• Dog food supplies are running low as well

If you’re able to help, every donation makes a difference. Whether it’s a can of formula, a bag of pet food, or sharing this post, you’re helping local families and their furry family members get through tough times.

Good Morning & Happy Saturday ☀️

Our Community Pantry is getting pretty low on formula. The most common formulas are the ones we are really in need of right now. If you have unopened formula your baby no longer uses, please consider donating it to help another family in need. 🍼

Also a gentle reminder since we’ve had multiple emergency requests recently: Please don’t wait until you are down to your last can or bottle to start looking for help. Utilize the resources that are out there before it becomes an emergency.
Reach out to your friends and family I’m sure they would help keep baby fed!

You can purchase formula with EBT during your regular food shopping (crazy that some people still don’t know that you can use your benefits for formula). WIC is meant to supplement, but as babies get older, move around more, and eat more often, it usually won’t last the entire month.

There is no shame in asking questions, planning ahead, or reaching out for resources. That’s what community is for. 💛
