Free CERT Basic Training Class July 11th, 12th & 18th (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day).
CERT Mission: “Do the greatest good for the greatest number of people” when a major disaster strikes our community.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a nationally supported, locally implemented initiative that teaches people how to better prepare themselves for hazards that may affect their communities. All basic CERT training program classes are free. We train and organize teams of volunteers to assist their families, neighbors, co-workers, and other community members during emergencies when professional responders may not be immediately available to assist (i.e. hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, explosions, etc.).
We teach disaster preparedness, light fire suppression & safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, team organization, disaster psychology, terrorism, basic first aid, and more.
After graduating from this three-day class, you can volunteer in Fort Bend county and all over the United States as a CERT member as well as take dozens of other extending education classes like stop the bleed, animal response, and more.
Our CERT Basic Training class is limited to 40 people.
