To all The Father's House dear friends, volunteers and future sponsors:

In behalf of the board of Directors we would like to thank all of you for supporting us! Just to give you a brief update, we are still in the stage where when clients call us for shelter needs, we coordinate them with other Shelter in Houston like the Star of Hope and Fort Bend Women Center for domestic abuse cases.

We are not financially capable yet to have our facility. The original plan as a start up was to find rental homes, 1 for female clients and children, and one home for the male clients to accommodate and use the homes as temporary shelter and office.

As you all know, The Father's House is run by volunteers who also have their own personal lives, jobs and professions. Given this position, we are struggling in making the vision and goals to materialize the soonest possible time.

Our hearts are pure, and our determination to put this Non-profit into reality and operational status is marked by firmness and boldness. It has been our prayers that The Father's Will for this calling to be fulfilled.

We personally believe that in each one of us, God has placed a seed or seeds of greatness, passion, dreams, visions and goals. Once these seeds are in our hearts, souls and embedded in our inmost spirits, these will never go away until finally fulfiiled.

We pray for His guidance, we ask the Holy Spirit to direct our paths each day. We ask that you our dearest friends to COME IN AGREEMENT WITH US IN OUR PRAYERS! Would you come and join us in our prayers? Will you our dearest friends and supporters?

We believe we can accomplish with great integrity, passion, and dedication of what the Father has called us to do through Jesus, Our Christ and Saviour! Mark 10:27 "With God all things are possible"!

We all aspire that when we meet OUR LOVING FATHER-CREATOR, OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, OUR HOLY SPIRIT in that one glorious-beautiful day- that we will hear from their lips "WELL DONE MY FAITHFUL SERVANT!"

Recap: Glamour, Glitz and Grins: Joan Rivers on the Red Carpet May 6, 2011 See post event coverage in the Houston Chronicle. Check out our Red Carpet Photos on Facebook. And still more glamorous event photosfrom our photog Roan! With 521 guests in attendance, the Glamour, Glitz and Grins: Joan Rivers on the Red Carpet Spring Gala grossed a record-breaking $756,000 for the Houston Area Women’s Center, including $55,000 during a mission-driven paddles up. Event Co-chairs were Arvia & Jason Few and Carrin Patman & Jim Derrick. The evening’s festivities were hosted by Houston’s Fox News Anchor Melinda Spaulding and CBS Mix 96.5 Radio Personality Ayana Mack. The Women’s Center paused to recognize Linda & Howard McCollum as the 2011 Community Honorees. Sue Ortenstone was present to accept the 2011 Corporate Honoree award on behalf of El Paso Corporation. Highlights: Arriving guests were greeted on the red carpet by a pack of paparazzi that were fawning over fashion and thirsting for the latest gossip. The ballroom at the Westin-Memorial City was awash in misty eyes as guests rose from their seats in a standing ovation for a former Women’s Center client who attended to express gratitude for helping her and her boys move from victims of domestic violence to survivors. The evening concluded with Joan Rivers delivering a side-stitching, jaw-dropping 45 minutes of outrageous commentary and advice, in trademark Joan Rivers’ style. Reflecting on her recent 77th birthday, she ranted about the natural evolution of the aging body. Joan continued to push the envelope and work the stage, with grand gestures and acrobatic reenactments that left guests weaving left to right to follow her every movement. From Trump to Cher, Joan sprinkled her act with celebrity stories, as well as personal details of her glamorous life.
