🎆🇺🇸 Celebrate the 4th of July Safely, Richmond! 🇺🇸🎆
As we gather to celebrate Independence Day with friends, family, and food, the Richmond Fire Department wants to keep everyone safe—and in compliance with the law.

🚫 Reminder: Fireworks are NOT allowed within Richmond city limits.
If you’re celebrating outside the city, please follow these fireworks safety tips:

✅ Fireworks Safety (Outside City Limits)

Only use legal fireworks

Light one at a time, away from people and structures

Keep a water source nearby

Never allow children to handle fireworks

🍔 Grill Smart

Grill at least 10 feet from any building or overhang

Never leave a lit grill unattended

Fully cool coals before disposal

🌞 Stay Cool in the Texas Heat

Drink lots of water

Take shade breaks

Check on elderly neighbors and pets

Let’s celebrate America safely—and responsibly.

The Episcopal Health Foundation and Measure have partnered to conduct a research study focused on preventing and managing diabetes in rural communities—and they’re inviting YOU to be part of it.

If you have been diagnosed or are at risk for Type 2 diabetes, you may qualify to participate in an upcoming focus group and help shape the future of diabetes care. Participants are eligible to receive a gift card incentive for your time at the end of the focus group!

💬 They are looking for individuals who:
Are 18 years or older
Are at risk for developing diabetes, have been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes type Il
Are willing to participate in one 90-minute focus group (locally in person or virtually)

This is a unique opportunity to share your experiences and make a lasting impact on how communities like ours are cared for.

Community Block Party Recap from our on Saturday-May 31st event! Thank you to all the participants and volunteers for the great and amazing time we had together!
Our community activities consisted of a stroll around the Wessendorff Park’s walking trail, viewing items from various vendors and organizations and also enjoying music and dance entertainment from various performers.. What an incredible day!
