“America at 250”: Civic Education & Community Leadership by American Pakistani Advocacy Group Cares (APAG Cares), commemorating America’s 250th anniversary while celebrating the Pakistani-American community’s contributions to our nation’s past, present, and future.

The event highlighted our community’s commitment to public service, civic engagement, leadership, volunteerism, and youth empowerment. Bringing together elected officials, community leaders, professionals, families, and young leaders, the evening reflected the importance of unity, service, and working together to strengthen our communities.

Led by President Ali Rashid, the event was attended by Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, NYC Comptroller Mark Levine, Senator Toby Stavisky, Senator Kristen Gonzalez, Senator John Liu, Council Member Linda Lee, Council Member Phil Wong, Assembly Member Steve Raga, Vice Consul General Umar Sheikh, and representatives from the offices of Congressman Tom Suozzi and Assembly Member David Weprin.

APAG Cares was also proud to recognize outstanding community leaders for their service and impact:
• Sidra Qasim – Trailblazing Entrepreneurship Award
• Inspector Adeel Rana – Distinguished Public Service Award
• Hassaan Chaudhary – Civic Leadership Award

Women volunteers were also recognized for their dedication and contributions to the community, reflecting the spirit of service that continues to strengthen our organization.

American Pakistani Advocacy Group Cares will continue working to serve, organize, and empower our community through service, leadership, civic engagement, and meaningful community partnerships.

APAG Cares Eid Al Adha Food Drive. The American Pakistani Advocacy Group Cares (APAG Cares) held its annual Eid Al-Adha Food Drive in Queens, New York, bringing together volunteers, community members, and elected officials in the spirit of service, compassion, and giving back. The APAG Cares team generously distributed essential food items including atta, rice, daal, tea bags, sawaiyan, fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs, and more to help support families in need as they prepared to celebrate Eid Al-Adha with dignity and joy.

Congressmember Grace Meng, State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, and NYC Councilmember Council Member Linda Lee office staff joined the event and appreciated the efforts of APAG Cares and its volunteers for their ongoing dedication to community service and advocacy.

The American Pakistani Advocacy Group Cares (APAG Cares) proudly conducted its 5th Annual Ramadan Food Drive on Friday at Allama Iqbal Avenue in Queens, New York.

Our dedicated APAG Cares team distributed essential Ramadan food items including Atta, Rice, Chana, Dall, Besan, Tea Bags, Dates, Rooh Afza, Sawiyan, fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs, and much more, helping ensure families can observe the blessed month with dignity and ease.

The turnout from the community was truly overwhelming. Seeing families come together and express their gratitude reminds us why we do this work.

At APAG Cares, it’s not just about distributing food — it’s about standing together, uplifting one another, and strengthening our community.
