The first recorded Eagle Scouts in the Reed City troop were D, Oughton, R. Gerfen, & H. in 1932. Since 1930, there have been 75 Eagle Scouts. Eight of these were prior to the start of Troop 74, which has produced the remaining 67 Eagles.

Friday night the scouts put out the flags in downtown Reed City. Yesterday, (Sunday) Kaden Beam organized a work detail for his Eagle Project. Today the scouts marched in the Memorial Day Parade.

Reed City BSA Troop 74 has installed a new American Flag drop box outside their scout building for anyone to drop off flags to be retired by the troop on flag day. We kindly ask that stick flags are not put inside the box as they may jam. The location is at 4918 N. Park St.

Troop 74 would like to thank the Reed City Fire Department for cleaning out the holes for the flags in downtown Reed City yesterday.

We've tried all manner of drill bits, screw drivers, shop vacs, and everything else you can think of - by far the best method we've found is a high pressure hose stream. Thank You, Jacob Hammond and Jim Decker for giving up a couple hours of your holiday weekend to get this done!
