🛡️ Huge shout-out to Hugh de Payens No. 47! 🛡️

I am incredibly proud of the work being done to not only start a powerful local initiative, but with the hope of one day launching this project statewide!

Recently, Sir Knight Eddie Gonzalez began the Templar Prelate program. As part of his journey, he was tasked with creating an initiative to give back to a cause he firmly believes in: helping the homeless and restoring their dignity. Because SK Eddie experienced homelessness himself as both a child and a young adult, this mission is deeply personal to him.
Out of this, "The Dignity Project" was born.
The goal of the project is to collect essential materials for those facing homelessness in our area during both the summer and winter months. Together, we sit, bless these items, and hand them out to those in need.

For our first round, we honestly weren’t quite sure how or where to start. We ultimately chose to partner with Our Brothers Keepers (OBK) because of their firm faith and belief. OBK operates strictly on the principles of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They are completely self-sustaining and privately funded, accepting zero local, state, or federal funding.

Walking through their doors and making even a small dent in their needs this summer felt amazing. We want to continue working closely with OBK to help even more families transition out of homelessness.

A special thank you to Sir Knight Zach Hill for presenting the check today, and to OBK Executive Director Jeffery for meeting with us. We can't wait to see what the future builds for this partnership!

We are not here to judge anyone's journey. Instead, we are here to pick them up, dust them off, and offer a helping hand. 🤝🕊️

Thank you all who came out to not only Support Hugh de Payens No. 47 Commandery, but we also hosted the Grand Worthy Advisor of Rainbow Girls Chloe Atkeson, and her amazing group of girls who traveled from various parts of the state to be in their 2nd parade in a week! 🙏🏽

Hugh de Payens #47 welcomes the three newest Sir Knights to the state of Michigan! Thank you everyone who took time and traveled out of their way to help make this happen! Below is the following message received incoming us of the loss of SK Larry Hyde, PC KTCH Grand Prelate Emeritus. He served with distinction, with the last term being 2022-23. His health had declined and he has finally succumbed to those illnesses. Please keep an ear out for service arrangements. He will sorely be missed.

"Good afternoon all,

I just received word that Excellent and Illustrious Companion Larry Hyde passed on to that celestial temple, not made of hands this morning.

He is going to be cremated and there will be a service at the Homer Masonic Temple, details will follow.

Larry, was an ardent supporter of the York Rite and he will be sorely missed.

Please keep this family in your thoughts during this time of bereavement.
