While our name has changed, our dedicated team, our commitment to 24/7 care, and our deep roots in Central Oregon remain the same.

Offering hospice care, transitions, veterans support, bereavement, and now in-home primary care throughout Central Oregon. Hospice care is designed to focus on quality of life for the terminally ill patient. Our goal is to enable patients to be as comfortable and as free of symptoms and pain as possible, so that they live each day as fully as possible. We believe in treating the patient holistically, honoring their life and their wishes. Our philosophy is to provide support for the patient’s emotional, social, and spiritual needs as well as medical symptoms management as part of treating the whole person. We incorporate a small team approach in providing compassionate personalized care for each patient. Our primary focus is our patients and their families, who we serve with dignity and respect. We believe that our patients have a right to participate in all decisions about their care. We offer suggestions based on sound medical practices but it is our patient’s life and ultimately our patient’s choice as to what will help them on this very personal journey.

Four days from now, evening tickets for the 43rd annual Festival of Trees go on sale.

The event is Saturday, December 5, at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center. The event includes a live tree auction, dinner, and an evening that raised more than $223,000 for hospice, Transitions, and in-home primary care last year. Redmond voted it Best Nonprofit Event this year, so plan on the tickets going fast.

We sincerely thank the American Legion Ray Johnson Post 44 in Redmond. Dave dropped by recently to hand-deliver a $500 check for Camp Sunrise. Camp Sunrise is a free camp for bereaved kids and teens throughout Central Oregon, and it relies entirely on the generosity of our community.

The FREE Family Fun Tree Preview runs from 10 am to 1 pm with Santa, cookies, and the Kids Corner, sponsored by Boulden Rogen. And let's not forget the People's Choice voting - where the community votes for their favorite tree.

On Saturday, October 24, the Oregon Memorial Traveling Wall will stand at Central Oregon Veterans Ranch in Bend, and our Serving Those Who Served team will be there with it.

Stop by the ClearPath table at the veteran and military resource fair from 10 am to 3 pm. We would love to talk with you about the Wall of Honor, our vet-to-vet conversations, and the support we offer veterans and their families across Central Oregon. The community ceremony of remembrance begins at noon.

This has been a heartbreaking week in Central Oregon, and many of us are carrying it, including children who are trying to understand something no child should have to.

ClearPath has walked beside grieving families in this community for 47 years, and we want you to know that our grief support is open to anyone, not only to the families we have cared for in hospice. If you are a parent, teacher, school staff member, or neighbor who doesn't know what to say or how to help a hurting child, you are welcome to call us. Our bereavement team can talk with you by phone, point you to our grief support groups, and share simple, gentle guidance on helping children cope with loss.

Following the loss of life at Silver Rail Elementary School, ClearPath Healthcare is hosting two community conversations for anyone who wishes to mourn and process what has happened. On October 22 and 29, from 1 to 3 pm, ClearPath’s Bereavement Coordinator and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker will host a gathering at the Redmond Library (Community Room #2) for anyone who would like to mourn together. No RSVP is needed, and you may come to one session or both.

Our hearts are broken for our community. We are thinking and praying for the people who lost someone, those recovering from injuries, and everyone in Central Oregon affected by what happened at Silver Rail Elementary School.

Central Oregon is a small place, and this loss is felt far beyond the people who bear it most. We are so sorry.

Last month, our Serving Those Who Served team joined some local United States Submarine Veterans at Brookdale Senior Living in Redmond with the USS Sturgeon replica they built from an old aircraft drop tank. Anne, a Navy veteran and ClearPath volunteer, was part of the crew. Residents, many of them veterans, came out to see it and swap stories.

This is what honoring service looks like between the ceremonies.
