The Friends of A.K. Smiley Public Library. Vine St., and at special sales and weekly silent auctions. The Friends also gratefully accept direct donations.

Smiley Public Library is a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds for the Library through the sale of donated books, vinyl records, CDs and other digital media. Smiley Public Library is a volunteer non-profit organization that provides support and funding for children’s programs, adult literacy, infrastructure improvements and new book purchases for A.K. To raise money for these programs and services, the Friends depend on public donations of books, CD’s, records, books on tape, records, magazines, and video games to sell at the bookstore on the lower level of the library at 125 W. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby entrance of the library. There are many flexible volunteer opportunities for those who enjoy books and reading. Especially needed are individuals interested in working in the bookstore, serving as adult literacy tutors, and sharing their computer skills. For more information or to volunteer, go to the Friends’ website: www.aksmileybookstore.com
