Sebago Lake Anglers Association To bring together for mutual enjoyment and benefit those who embrace the ideals of sport fishing in the Sebago Lake region

What is Sebago Lake Angler Association? A fishing Club—a group of like-minded men and women who are passing on the tradition of sport fishing to the next generation of outdoors men and women through the exchange of ideas, experiences, fishing access, techniques, and State of Maine rules and regulations. Youth Activities—sponsoring and conducting youth oriented events such as “Hooked on Fishing” derbies and Scouting activities
Environmental Issues—advocating for the protection of Class AA waters such as Crooked River to protect the unique strain of landlocked salmon inhabiting Sebago Lake as well as other environmental impact issues such as the threat of tar sands pipelines and the general fisheries biology of area waterways. Support the Maine State Inland Fisheries and Wildlife efforts as well as those of Portland Water District and Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation to protect the fisheries resources through such activities as supplemental smelt and salmon egg seeding in area lakes and rivers, participating in focus groups targeting specific actions or problem areas and providing feedback on Department rule making and actions.

Join us Tuesday October 13 at the United Methodist Church of Good Fellowship 1000 Roosevelt Trail, Naples starting with a potluck supper at 6:30 PM. Welcome new members and existing ones! Our guest speaker will be Steve Tremblay, Superintendent of the Casco fish hatchery. Here is a photo of a 6.4 pound Sebago salmon taken in September. Sebago is experiencing a salmon renaissance. Derby weekend is a wrap! Thanks to our sponsors and all the participants! Here are the results:

1st place Togue: Andries Elburg Canton,MA 11.26 lbs 33 inches

2nd place Togue: John Sailhamer Canton,MA 7.61 lbs 30.75 inches (John won largest togue for Saturday and was last years winner)

3rd place Togue: Jay McMahon, Canton, MA 7.29 lbs 30 inches
All three winners came from John’s boat. Ask him about his flatfish technique!

1st most pike: Devin Prue, Steep Falls, ME 5 pike (Devin won last year, too)

2nd most Pike: Geoff Sparrow, Windham, ME 1 pike.

Smallest Togue Deane Gower, Standish, ME .18 lbs (Deane won smallest last year and is our Top Sponsor-Gower and Son Construction).
