This Saturday, you’ll want to watch or record MPT’s “Outdoors Maryland” for a fascinating look at BaltCo’s own Gunpowder River.

We loved the gorgeous scenery and enjoyed learning all about the river’s value for recreational paddling and trout fishing, as well as the importance of protecting this fragile aquatic treasure.

This encore episode airs this Saturday, March 28th, on MPT at 5:30 am and 4:30 pm, or check the comments for the link.

It’s hot neighbors! Let’s beat the heat!!🥵

Hydration and Cooling:
Drink plenty of water: Keep a water bottle with you and sip throughout the day.
Take cool showers or baths: This helps lower your body temperature.
Use fans: Fans help circulate air and make you feel cooler.
Place cool cloths on your neck or forehead: This can provide localized cooling.
Eat cool foods: Enjoy refreshing fruits and vegetables with high water content.
Limit sugary drinks and alcohol: These can dehydrate you.
Clothing and Activity:
Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing: Light colors reflect heat, and loose clothing allows air to circulate.
Avoid strenuous activity during peak heat: Schedule outdoor activities for cooler times of the day.
Seek shade: When outdoors, find places with shade to protect yourself from the sun.
Wear a hat: A wide-brimmed hat can help protect your face and neck.
Environment:
Spend time in air-conditioned spaces: Go to libraries, malls, or other places with air conditioning.
Close curtains or blinds: This helps block out sunlight and keep your home cooler.
If you don't have AC, find a cooling option: Consider visiting a cooling center or a friend's house with air conditioning.
Other Tips:
Check on vulnerable individuals:
Make sure your family, friends, and neighbors are staying safe and cool, especially older adults and those with health conditions.
Be aware of heat-related illnesses:
Know the symptoms of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke and seek medical attention if needed. I’m
