Heart and Hooves Therapy is here to enhance the lives of children and adults by offering a different kind of therapy!

We use mini horses and other farm animals to provide animal assisted activities and therapy to any and all.

Late post!
Yesterday Theo was out for his session and he had the best session to date! He asked for the creek a few times but I told him my knee was not all better yet so we had to wait and he was totally okay with it. He was able to complete the obstacle course, groom Alivia and even pushed through when he was done. I love that even when he wanted to do a task first that was not in the order I said. With a prompt of "lets talk about it" He calmed down and came over so we could discuss what he wanted to do. We then figured out a new plan and executed it. Good job buddy!

Malea was out today for her session and boy was she ready to go and happy to be here.

I want to break down the photos.

1st photo- looks like a normal of handler tying the horse and little girl grabbing from the grooming box.

Whats really going on is Malea is flat footed bent over at the waist with a slight bend at the knee doing a great calf stretch. She also is making eye contact while her hand is reaching for the curry comb.

2nd photo- looks again like handler helping little girl clean rear horse hoof.
What's really going on is Malea is flat footed while using both hands correctly to hold up Tori's hoof with help. She is focused on using her hand with the hoof pick and was not rusing or rough.

3rd photo- Malea wanted to collect the eggs and was independently following directions to collect the eggs without breaking them and helped count them. She did not care about the shavings touching her, the smell or the chickens that were by her.

Growth is what we work for with each session 💪 ✨️ ❤️

Airlyn was so happy to be back for her session today! I loved seeing her and hearing her talk more and following directions while completing the obstacle course and grooming Tori. She was not nervous or afraid of Tori or the chickens either. Her growth with being able to control Tori while leading independently has been great to watch and even with a 2 month break she came back ready to go.

No pictures from our group session with Oliver,Emma and Gabriel. We worked together to care for the chickens, then we each put a mini horse in the arena to run around (Emma did 2 ), Oliver and Gabriel then went to care for the goats. All 3 with help got a horse from the arena and we all went through the obstacle course with Gabriel and Tori being the leader. Emma and Oliver independently lead and we're able to follow directions. We then groomed the horses, cleaned up our grooming totes and played a game together.

Bruce was out today to work with Violet. He did really good with leading her, talking to her and making sure he followed directions and instructions.

Sebastian was outntoday to work with AJ! He did really good working on his self regulation, being calm and following directions. We had a few reminders but overall he was able to complete everything.

Greyson was so happy to see his Tori horse today. It was along break but he worked hard with her and the goats too.

Piper was less than thrilled with her mani and pedi this morning. So thankful for for taking care of her hooves and the goats for us.
