Dear Cancer Warrior,
Taking healthcare advice from people who know nothing about your medical journey, diagnosis, treatment history or current condition can further endanger your health.

Your health is too precious to be guided by assumptions, hearsay and unqualified opinions. Listen to your healthcare professionals, ask questions, keep your medical records, and make informed decisions about your treatment.

Your cancer journey is personal. Treat it with the seriousness it deserves. 💗

It is completely understandable to remain positive and reject a cancer diagnosis in your heart and spirit.

But while you reject the sickness, keep proper records of your diagnosis, test results and treatment.

One day, when you win the battle and share your testimony, those records will help tell the story of what you overcame.

Reject the sickness. Keep the records. Preserve your testimony.

Health Awareness Tip
YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS BELONG TO YOU
In the last three weeks, every woman battling cancer who has reached out to me, especially those from outside Lagos, has told me the same thing: “My test results are on the hospital system.”

Please note that you have a right to request and keep photocopies or digital copies of your test results and relevant treatment records. Do not depend entirely on a hospital’s system to preserve your medical history.

Keep copies of your blood tests, scans, biopsies, pathology reports, Pap smear results, treatment summaries, prescriptions and other important medical records. Keep them safely in a folder and, where possible, have digital copies on your phone or email.

When a hospital or doctor knows that you will request copies of your investigations and treatment records, it also encourages proper documentation and thoroughness in your care.
This is especially important for cancer patients. You may need to change hospitals, consult another specialist, travel outside your city, seek a second opinion or continue treatment somewhere else. Your medical history should travel with you.

And please understand this: some NGOs may not give you cash to support treatment, but they may support you with medical supplies, drugs, investigations or other forms of assistance. Having your medical records readily available can make it easier to establish your diagnosis, treatment needs and eligibility for support.

Don't wait until you need your records before you start looking for them.
Your health records are part of your health journey.

Keep them. Protect them. Back them up.
MY Body My Asset Cancer Foundation says: KEEP COPIES OF ALL YOUR TEST RESULTS FOR YOUR PERSONAL RECORDS.

One Week to Go🎉

It’s exactly one week to the 6th Anniversary Celebration of My Body My Asset Foundation (MBMACF), and as always, it’s that time of the year for our routine health checks.

I, Franca Eze, being an Ambassador for Healthy Living, always take the lead. Even though I hate needles 😂, I remind myself that prevention is far better than cure. Taking care of our health must never be left until there is a problem.

Our office will be open next Tuesday to receive everyone who has one thing or the other to do at the office. Let’s get ready, get checked, and celebrate another year of promoting healthier lives. ❤️

6 years of impact. 6 years of advocacy. 6 years of saving lives.

It really is heartbreaking. Cancer has taken far too many lives, mostly people who still had so much love to give, dreams to pursue, and lives to live. Rest in peace Legend.

No One Walks Alone ❤️

Brands whose theme aligns beautifully with the powerful message “No One Walks Alone” are recreating the blockbuster poster in support of Funke Akindele's new film, The Four.

And from all of us at My Body My Asset Cancer Foundation, we agree completely:
No one walks alone. ❤️

Your circle is your strength. The people in your circle matters.

The right support can make all the difference.
We rise together, we support one another, and we celebrate each other’s wins. Because when women stand together, we become stronger together. ❤️

Congratulations to funke Akindele and the entire team behind The Four. 🎬❤️
Her Circle. Her Strength.
No One Walks Alone.

Moderation is seriously underrated. 👏

There’s another woman on TikTok who said she is eating fruits only for one full year. Honestly, she already looks terrible. 😔

A woman on our platform once decided, on her own, to completely stop eating carbohydrates for a period of time.

She eventually slumped and was rushed to the hospital. After the doctors examined her, they discovered that her blood sugar was dangerously low.

When I heard what happened, I was honestly very disappointed. Not because she wanted to eat healthier, but because she went to an extreme without understanding what her body needed.

That experience was one of the things that gave birth to our foundation’s meal plan.

We believe in eating balanced meals, appropriate portions, variety and moderation, not starving the body or completely eliminating an entire food group without a medical reason.

Your body needs nourishment. ❤️

Healthy eating should make you stronger, healthier and more energetic, not weak, exhausted or sick.

Please, don't copy everything you see on social media. What works for one person may not be suitable for another.

Moderation is underrated. Balance is the goal. 💯

Every woman with a teenage daughter should do everything possible to protect her from both breast and cervical cancer.

Here are some important steps you can take:

1. Encourage her to receive the HPV vaccine.
Teach her breast awareness and to report any unusual changes.

2. Promote a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

3. Encourage regular physical activity.
Help her maintain a healthy body weight.

4. Discourage smoking and alcohol use.
Teach her about personal and menstrual hygiene.

5.Educate her about safe sexual practices and the importance of delaying sexual activity where possible.

6. Ensure she attends regular medical check-ups when needed.

7. Be someone she can talk to openly about her health without fear or embarrassment.

Prevention begins at home. The lessons you teach your daughter today can protect her health for years to come. 💕🎗️

National Health Center Week (August 2–8, 2026)

From August 2–8, 2026, we celebrate National Health Center Week, recognizing the invaluable contributions of health centers and the dedicated healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to improve the health and well-being of our communities.

This week is a reminder that quality healthcare, preventive services, health education, and early detection save lives. It also encourages us all to take charge of our health by going for regular medical check-ups, cancer screenings, vaccinations, eating healthy, staying physically active, and seeking medical attention when needed.

Healthy communities begin with healthy choices. Let's continue to support accessible healthcare and work together toward a healthier future for everyone.
