Misuse of Identity as The Nature of Conflict:

Misuse of identity in conflict occurs when group markers—such as ethnicity, religion, or nationality—are manipulated, exaggerated, or instrumentalized to serve underlying material or political interests.

While conflicts often appear to be rooted in "ancient hatreds" or deeply held identity differences, they are frequently driven by leaders or groups exploiting these identities to mobilize support, solidify power, or exclude rivals.

Tribal and religious identities can be weaponized by actors who hide under them to commit evil and advance selfish motives, using them as tools for mobilization and covering their actions.

Many conflicts that appear to be religious or ethnic are, in reality, driven by secular interests such as political power, struggle for resources, or economic control.

This perspectives aligns with a widely held understanding of conflict, particularly in regions experiencing instability, where tribalism and religion are often used as tools to manipulate and mobilize people, rather than being the primary cause of the conflict itself.

This viewpoint suggests that the true battle is against manipulation, greed, and malice, which are disguised under legitimate identities to create division.

Behavioral Patterns (The "Nature"):

In psychology, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. When someone lacks empathy or shows malicious traits consistently, investing hope in their rehabilitation often leads to repeated disappointment.

Some philosophical views hold that certain individuals have an unchangeable disposition. Accepting this "nature" is often the first step in setting firm boundaries to protect oneself, rather than trying to fix or save them.

That is a deeply understandable perspective, and it reflects the profound frustration of waiting for someone to change who repeatedly causes harm. When people show us consistently destructive behavior, expecting a sudden shift in their character can feel like an endless drain on our own emotional energy.

Attachment to Impermanence:

Suffering arises when our desire for things to remain the same clashes with the reality that they cannot. Recognizing that holding too tightly to worldly things causes suffering because impermanence is a natural law.

Surah Al-Hadid (57:20) defines worldly life as temporary, equating it to amusement, adornment, boasting, and competitive accumulation of wealth and children. It describes this life as fleeting, like rain-fed vegetation that briefly delights farmers before turning yellow and crumbling into chaff. The verse concludes that this world is a "delusion" compared to the reality of the Hereafter.

It is a perspective that can bring peace, helping to release anxiety over control and to accept loss as part of a larger, divine order.

You Can't Outrun Problems:

Challenges often follow you, appearing in new forms until they are resolved. You cannot grow or build a life (business, family, relationship) if you run when things get difficult.

Constant flight causes you to lose your sense of pride and perseverance, preventing you from becoming your strongest self, there is no protection for those who turn their backs on their battles.

Instead of running, take time to understand the root of the problem. If life pushes you, push it back. Stop running!".

The Outcome of An Act Historically Documented:

The king who sacrificed his eldest son to turn the tide of a war is King Mesha of Moab, as recounted in the Bible in 2 Kings 3:27. Facing defeat by an alliance of Israel, Judah, and Edom, Mesha offered his son as a burnt offering on the city wall of Kir-Hareseth to his god, Chemosh, causing the allied forces to withdraw.

In desperation, Mesha took his firstborn son, who was to succeed him as king, and offered him as a burnt offering on top of the city wall in full view of the enemy.

The act of sacrificing his son is described as causing "great wrath against Israel" or great indignation/fury, which resulted in the allied forces (led by Joram of Israel) breaking the siege and withdrawing from Moab.

This event is not only mentioned in 2 Kings but is also historically supported by the Mesha Stele (also known as the Moabite Stone), which recounts Mesha's victory and his relationship with the god Chemosh.

The Empowerment Risk:

Many scholars and policymakers argue that giving in to terrorist demands empowers them. Conceding to the demands (such as paying ransoms or releasing prisoners) is believed to validate the tactics, showing that terrorism is effective.

This can directly encourage future kidnappings, attacks, and blackmail. Negotiation can give a group an air of legitimacy, shifting them from criminals to political actors, which can aid their recruitment and reputation. Ransom payments and concessions can be used by groups to finance further operational activities, weapons, and training.

Negotiating and meeting demands can reveal a government as unwilling or unable to protect its citizens, diminishing its credibility and control, making the citizens vulnerable to future adoption or killing.

A Call to Establish the Foundation:

The foundation of God’s Kingdom is rooted in righteousness and truth, often described as aligning with the principles that have been the foundation of God’s throne from eternal ages. It involves building on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

Quran discribed it as Built on Taqwa. The most secure foundation is built on fearing God and seeking His approval, not on weak, worldly, or crumbling structures.

The goal of this mobilization is to act as agents of restoration, bringing healing and order to a chaotic world ("turning deserts into gardens like Eden").

In essence, it is a calling to be "sold-out saints" with a "Kingdom Mentality," whose lives and testimonies serve as weapons to protect the faith and extend God's glory.

Peace Through Strength:

If you want peace, prepare for war. True peacemakers do not avoid conflict, but rather confront it to restore order. It takes courage to stand up against injustice and actively work to create a secure environment.

This concept is commonly referred to as "peace through strength" or building resilience, which argues that the capacity to defend discourages disruption. Protecting peace can involve being equipped to defend against those who wish to disrupt it.
