Your voice matters. TAASA is conducting anonymous community surveys to better understand how sexual violence impacts individuals, families, and communities across Texas. By sharing your perspective, you can help shape prevention efforts, survivor support services, and community education initiatives.

Every response helps create safer, more informed communities where survivors are supported and heard. Take a few moments to complete the survey and help make a difference.

💙 May is Mental Health Month.

For young men especially, asking for help can feel like the hardest thing. It isn't a weakness. It's what strong people do.

If someone in your life is struggling, check in. If you're the one struggling, say something.

📋 Before we build programs, we listen.

Last week, our team was at the health fair in Princeton asking the community real questions. What challenges are you facing? What does this community need? How long have you been here?

That's how stronger communities get built. One conversation at a time.

💼 Stable work creates options. Options create safety.

For young women especially, economic independence isn't just a career goal. It's a protective factor. When there's a paycheck, a pathway, and people in your corner — leaving unsafe situations becomes possible.

Last week's Building Strong Futures session focused on leadership, communication, and social development.

Youth explored the qualities of a good leader, which included helping others, standing up for people, showing kindness, being willing to teach others, and not being easily influenced by negative behavior.

Youth left the session with a clearer understanding that leadership is not about a title, but about actions, choices, and how they treat others every day.

A check-in. A question. A raised eyebrow. Small interruptions change what becomes normal in a friend group, a classroom, a workplace.

You don't have to have all the answers. You just have to say something.

Last week's Building Strong Futures session focused on HOPE - what it means, how it shapes choices, and how it influences future planning.

Youth shared heartfelt reflections that highlighted their understanding of hope:
⭐ "Hope means that I can see more of my family who live in different places."
⭐ "Hope means that I want to hear my grandmother's voice who passed away."
⭐ "I hope to get my phone fixed."
⭐ "I am hoping that since this week is my 18th birthday, I get something."

We're so grateful our workshops are a space for young people to build hope, compassion, and community 💜
