What an incredible day we had at NB Clements Earth day yesterday. Ty Mrs. Woods for coordinating this amazing funfilled day for all your students. The students were able to go to several classes and teach about composting, and many other things. The science students posed questions for students to answer and rewarded them with candy when they got it right. What an outstanding opportunity these students had to teach others and enjoy helping them learn how important planting is, using many different aspects of composting aspects to provide rich and healthy soil.
I have to give a HUGE shout out to Herritick feed and seed for ALL the soil and black liner for the beds. Chris Underhill from parks and rec swooping into the rescue with stones, The counseling department at N.B for lending us their popcorn and snow cone Machine FULLY stocked for use which made it possible to celebrate the children’s hard work and dedication to this Earth day.
Our PTO at NB Clements donated 4 boxes of assorted chips, 90 cans a wide variety of sodas, 2 large 260 piece bags of candy, 20 garden shovels, 20 pair of rubber gloves, many pinwheels, many garden decorations, 4-10 gallon totes, I volunteered the entire school day to make all the snow cones and popcorn for the ALL the science groups for both 8th and 9th grade plus the science Club as well.
Thank you Mrs. Fallin for getting down in the beds pulling weeds and doing all you do as well. You are an inspiration and PG is absolutely blessed to have you as one of our Teachers.
Thank you to everyone who made this day possible. It was a great success. We look forward to next year with expanding the courtyard even more.
