* Update: AAFES facilities will be closing at noon
OPERATIONAL STATUS UPDATE: Installation Commander, Fort Lee, will execute a closure on Monday, March 16, due to hazardous weather conditions.
The Senior Commander directs that mission essential personnel only are to report for duty.
Employees on approved telework agreements are to telework; Where telework is not applicable, employees are excused without charge to leave. Please coordinate with your supervisor for any questions.
Fort Lee leadership has made the decision to best ensure the safety of those stationed on the installation and those who will be traveling to and from for work and other activities.
Changes to start times include:
• All DFMWR facilities closed; (24/7 facilities will be operational).
• KAHC facilities closed
• Warrior Restaurants 3500, 3003, 3810, and 18028, 11105 will operate brunch & MREs for supper meal.
• The Commissary will operate as normal. Continue to monitor Social Media updates for changes in store status
• AAFES Food/Retail locations will operate as normal, except Express will open 6 a.m. Continue to monitor Social Media updates for changes in store status.

Severe Weather Awareness – Fort Lee Community:
These storms may produce damaging winds, heavy rain, hail, and possible tornadoes, with the greatest risk during the afternoon and early evening hours.

Soldiers, Families, Civilians, and visitors should remain weather aware and take steps now to prepare.
Before the storm:
• Monitor weather forecasts with local news channels and installation updates
• Secure outdoor furniture, trash cans, and loose items
• Charge phones and electronic devices in case of power outages
• Identify the safest place in your home or workplace to shelter if severe weather occurs
During the storm:
• Seek shelter indoors and stay away from windows
• Move to a low interior room on the lowest floor if severe weather warnings are issued
• Avoid driving unless necessary due to heavy rain, debris, or reduced visibility
• Continue monitoring official alerts and instructions
After the storm:
• Watch for downed power lines, fallen trees, and debris
• Avoid flooded roadways and damaged areas
• Report emergencies to local authorities (Dial 911)
• Check on neighbors and community members if it is safe to do so
