🚨 During Crash Responder Safety Week, Calvert Safe Housing Network joins Calvert County Government in recognizing the dedicated first responders who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

From law enforcement and EMS to fire and rescue, emergency communications, and roadside assistance personnel, these professionals put their safety on the line every day to protect others.

We are grateful for the first responders who serve our community and the important role they play in supporting individuals and families during times of crisis. ❤️

🚨 Crash Responder Safety Week

Every day, traffic incident responders put themselves in harm’s way to help keep our roads safe. This week, we recognize the dedicated professionals who respond to crashes and roadway incidents, including EMS, law enforcement, fire and rescue, towing and recovery, transportation and public works personnel.

Behind every emergency response is a team of professionals working to protect our community. Throughout the week, we'll spotlight members of Calvert County Emergency Communications whose dedication and quick thinking make a difference every day.

Drivers: Help keep our responders safe.

When approaching a traffic incident or roadside response:
• Slow down.
• Stay alert and be prepared to stop.
• Move over when possible.
• Give responders plenty of space to work.

🚗 Maryland’s Move Over Law requires motorists to change lanes or slow down when approaching any stopped, standing or parked vehicle displaying warning signals.
