Pratt FFA

Last week a few of our members attended the State FFA Convention. Two of them served as delegates and one was a part of the State FFA Chorus.

As Pratt FFA chapter delegates, RaManda & Cara, were required to attended meetings and vote on the 2026-2027 state officer team.

Reagan sang in the FFA State Chorus concert and was also selected to sing the National Anthem in a special quartet to open one of the session meetings.

Overall, the week was insightful as 2 of our members had never attended prior. They are eager to go back next year!

Tonight, we held our Pratt FFA annual banquet. Per National FFA guidelines, our chapter members can earn degrees at the end of the year if they met the criteria. Greenhands (first time members) earn their Greenhand Degree and returning members earn their Chapter Degree. Tonight, we awarded 16 Greenhand Degrees and 10 Chapter Degrees. Special awards went to: Kaden Goertz for Star Greenhand, Hayden Riffey for Star Farmer and our chapter scholarship, and Jesse Blasi for an Honorary Chapter Degree. Congratulations to RaManda Wingfield, Callie Jo Novotny, Leah Gatz, Emry Myers, Kaden Goertz, Alexis Simmons, and Cara Riffey for being selected as the 2026-2027 officers.

Yesterday, five of our freshman members participated in the Freshman Ag Mechanics competition. To recognize their efforts, each student was awarded a prize at the conclusion of the event.

Last week our chapter participated in Livestock Evaluation. I'm proud of all of our members who participated. Placings included Reagan Blasi 14th in the Greenhand division and Colton Kalous 13th in the Senior division. Our Greenhand team brought home 4th as a team as well.

Yesterday, a few students from our chapter participated in an Ag Technology and Mechanics competition. We received great feedback from the team activity and that they had great teamwork. I am proud of them because there was some harder aspects to this competition that they had to work through.

Last week, our Animal Science class had the opportunity to go to PCC's Gweltney Hall (their agriculture building). Lori Messmore Montgomery walked them through an animal reproduction lab. The students said the lab was both educational and fun. We hope to make more trips like this in the future!

Today our FFA wanted to thank our teachers for all the work that they do throughout the year. We cooked them pancakes and bacon.

Today our FFA officers celebrated FFA week by reading a book about agriculture in the kindergarten classes in our district.
