Occasionally, someone leaves a mark on your heart and life that stays with you forever. “Aunt Rudy” was one of those precious people. As a house parent at Calvary Children’s Home, she faithfully modeled the love of Christ to the countless children entrusted to her care.
Her sweet, gentle, and truly genteel spirit was a comfort to so many in our Home, Church, and community. With a kind word, a patient heart, and a tender hug, she could calm even the most troubled child and make them feel safe, loved, and valued. She lived out the compassion and grace of Jesus every day in the quiet ways that mattered most.
Many children who passed through Calvary Children’s Home will forever remember her love, her prayers, and the example she set before them. Her life was a beautiful testimony of Christian kindness and servant-hearted love. She modeled Christianity to the fullest.
Like the Lord in Psalm 147.3, she was always ready to “Heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.” Her influence will continue to live on in the many lives she touched so deeply.
Thank you, Rudy, for the time you and Ben gave to the Lord at Calvary. We were better because of you both.
