๐Ÿ“ฃ JOIN US VIRTUALLY THIS FRIDAY!

Iโ€™m excited to share that Iโ€™ve been invited to participate as an alumni panelist at Michigan State Universityโ€™s Q***ring Racial Justice Summit alongside Dr. T.J. Jourian!

As the Founder and Executive Director of Black Educated Le****nsยฎ (BEL), Iโ€™m looking forward to contributing to conversations about racial justice, LGBTQ+ experiences, leadership, and the importance of creating spaces where our communities can thrive.

Although Iโ€™ll be participating in person, Michigan State University has provided an opportunity for interested colleagues and community members to join the Alumni Panel virtually.

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’› 3rd Annual Black Educated Le****nsยฎ Conference Highlights!

Three days. One powerful community. Countless unforgettable moments.

From September 18โ€“20, 2026, we gathered in Atlanta for our 3rd Annual BEL Conference under the theme โ€œThriving in Power: Liberation, Legacy, Leadership.โ€

What an incredible weekend of connection, education, empowerment, healing, and celebration!

Together, we created space for meaningful conversations about physical and mental health, healthy relationships, women's health, financial empowerment, entrepreneurship, sexual liberation, and so much more.

We laughed, we learned, we connected, and most importantly, we continued building a community where Black le****ns and Black q***r women can thrive.

To our incredible facilitators, attendees, sponsors, vendors, community partners, volunteers, and BEL Dream Team, THANK YOU! Your contributions helped bring this experience to life.

๐Ÿ“ธ Relive the moments! Check out our conference highlights and see some of the memories we created together.

๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค COMING BACK HOME TO MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›

Some invitations just mean a little more. This is definitely one of them. ๐Ÿฅน

On Friday, October 16, 2026, I will be returning to my alma mater, Michigan State University, to participate as an alumni panelist at the Q***ring Racial Justice Summit, hosted at the MSU Multicultural Center.

To be invited back to the university that was part of my journey is already special. But to know that Michigan State is creating space for conversations centered on racial justice, LGBTQ+ identities, liberation, and community makes this moment even more meaningful.

Iโ€™ll be joining Dr. T.J. Jourian, someone Iโ€™ve known for approximately 20 years, for the Lunch and Learn Alumni Panel from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Twenty years of connection, different journeys, and now an opportunity to share space on a panel at our alma mater. Thatโ€™s something special. ๐Ÿ’š

As the Founder and Executive Director of Black Educated Le****nsยฎ (BEL), so much of my work today is rooted in creating the spaces, opportunities, and representation that our communities deserve.

Being able to return to MSU and participate in conversations that reflect those same values feels like a full-circle moment.

Iโ€™m especially proud to see my alma mater investing in these conversations and creating opportunities for students, alumni, scholars, and community members to engage in meaningful dialogue.

Iโ€™m looking forward to reconnecting with the Spartan community, sharing my experiences, learning from others, and simply being back on campus.

Once a Spartan, always a Spartan! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

Go Green! Go White! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

MASC-PRESENTING LE****NS, BEL MEANS Yโ€™ALL TOO. ๐Ÿ’œ

Before the year ends, use those health insurance benefits and take care of YOU.

Depending on your body, age, health history and risk factors, ask your provider what youโ€™re due for:

๐Ÿฉบ Annual wellness visit
๐Ÿฉธ Bloodwork
โค๏ธ Blood pressure, cholesterol & diabetes screenings
๐ŸŽ€ Breast/chest cancer screening
๐ŸŒธ Cervical cancer screening, if you have a cervix
๐Ÿงช STI & HIV testing
๐Ÿฆท Dental cleaning
๐Ÿ‘“ Eye exam
๐Ÿง  Mental health care
๐Ÿ’‰ Recommended vaccines
๐Ÿฅ— Nutrition & wellness benefits

Being masculine-presenting does not mean reproductive, sexual or preventive healthcare doesnโ€™t apply to you.

And you deserve providers who respect how you identify and present without making assumptions about your body or your healthcare needs.

Check your benefits. Schedule what youโ€™re due for. Ask questions. Advocate for yourself.

๐Ÿ’œ At BEL, when we talk about taking care of our community, we mean yโ€™all too.

๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŽ„ SAVE THE DATE: THE INAUGURAL BEL HOLIDAY GALA & COMMUNITY CELEBRATION ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’œ

I shared some of the vision in the video, but there is so much more behind why I want BEL to create this event.

๐Ÿ“… Saturday, December 12, 2026
๐Ÿ“ Metro Atlanta

BELโ€™s work includes education, wellness, research, leadership, resources, advocacy, and creating spaces for Black le****ns and Black q***r women to connect.

But our community also deserves spaces created simply for joy, celebration, connection, and being together.

That is the vision behind the BEL Holiday Gala & Community Celebration.

I want us to have an evening where Black le****ns and Black q***r women can dress up, eat good food, dance, laugh, shop with community vendors, meet organizations doing work in our community, make new connections, and simply enjoy one another.

๐Ÿ’œ Community, Not Competition

That is an important part of the mission behind this event.

There are organizations, groups, businesses, and community leaders doing meaningful work for Black le****ns and Black q***r women throughout Metro Atlanta. I want this gala to create opportunities for us to be in the same room, learn about each otherโ€™s work, share resources, build relationships, and make sure our community knows whatโ€™s available to them.

The evening will include dinner, music and dancing, community vendors, community organizations and resources, selected community spotlights, fundraising, networking, and plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy the night.

More information will be coming about:

โœจ Tickets
โœจ Vendor opportunities
โœจ Community partnerships
โœจ Sponsorship opportunities
โœจ Community Spotlights
โœจ And more

For now, save the date.
