When support is there when it is needed most.

These have been difficult days for the Zazymia community in the Kyiv region.

On August 30, 2026, in Pohreby village, Zazymia community, a Russian Shahed drone struck the Dubrovka café.
The following day, two Russian drones struck a food storage facility, causing a large-scale fire.
Eight people were injured, but thankfully, no fatalities were reported.

During the emergency response, a fire truck provided through Ukraine Aid International for our Sister City of Zazymia helped fight the fire.

This is what community resilience looks like in practice: identifying a real need, providing the right resource, and seeing it protect the community when it matters most.

We are grateful to Zazymia’s emergency services – and to everyone who has supported UAI, continues to stand with us, and plans to do so in the future.
Your support makes this work possible and helps us provide Ukrainian communities with the resources they urgently need.

When Partnership Becomes a Concrete Result

This summer, the partnership between our donors and Siversk, Ukraine, delivered a tangible result: two completed camp sessions for 80 children from a frontline community.

Ukraine Aid International supported the collaboration, while the Karabin Camp team, local leaders, educators, caregivers, and transportation partners helped turn this shared commitment into a meaningful experience for the children.

The result was concrete: 80 children from Siversk participated in two ten-day camp sessions, where they could rest, reconnect, explore, and simply enjoy being children.

This is UAI’s municipal partnership model in practice – a direct US-Ukraine relationship built around locally identified needs and transformed into a visible outcome for a specific community.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported this program and helped make these camp sessions possible: Samantha Nestor, First Selectwoman of the Town of Weston, Connecticut; Dr. Anthony Pesco, Second Selectman of the Town of Weston, Connecticut, an experienced financial services executive and a pillar of the Weston community; the people of Weston, Connecticut; and UAI’s generous donors.

The strongest partnerships are measured by what changes on the ground – not simply by what is promised.

Help turn this partnership into its next concrete result.

Two Sessions, One Summer of Childhood

This July, two groups of children from Siversk spent ten days at UAI Camp in the Carpathians, with room to move, create, reconnect, and simply be children.

The sessions took place from July 7-16 and July 19-28, with 40 children participating in each.
Their days included mountain hikes, sports and team challenges, creative workshops, talent evenings, campfires, and long-awaited time with friends, classmates, and teachers.

Yet the most meaningful moments were often the smallest: cheering for a teammate, trying something new, laughing over tea and marshmallows, or leaving with friendships and memories that would last far beyond camp.

Ten days cannot erase what children from a frontline community have experienced.
They can, however, create space to breathe, regain energy, rebuild confidence, and experience the joy every childhood deserves.

We are deeply grateful to Samantha Nestor (First Selectwoman of the Town of Weston, CT), Anthony Pesco (Second Selectman of the Town of Weston, CT), the people of Weston, CT, and UAI’s generous donors for helping make these camp sessions possible.

A little summer update from Pound Ridge, Zazymia’s Sister City! 💙💛

On July 24, the community came together for an evening of live music, connection, and solidarity with Zazymia, Ukraine. The benefit event supported the effort to provide Zazymia with a critically needed fire truck – a powerful reminder that friendship between communities can grow into meaningful action. We are grateful to everyone who joined and stood with Ukraine!
