🎓 College Application Bootcamp at Marist! 🎓

What a summer! Marist LPP was excited to partner with Ms. Semexant, PCSD College and Career Counselor, to welcome 20+ rising PHS seniors to Marist University for three days of college preparation, exploration, and fun!

Throughout the bootcamp, students:
✨ Started their Common App applications
📝 Completed their senior profiles
💰 Learned about financial aid and paying for college
✍️ Began working on their college essays
🎯 Took important steps toward their post-secondary goals

And, of course, we had to end the week with some fun! Students celebrated their hard work with a trip to Dave & Buster's at the Palisades Mall. 🎮🍔🎉

We are so proud of our rising seniors for showing up, putting in the work, and taking this exciting next step toward their futures. We can’t wait to see where their college journeys take them!

Marist LPP is excited to share our new office space on campus! You can now find us in Donnelly Hall, Room 258 Q, in the same office suite as the Marist Center for Civic Engagement and Leadership! The suite is through the computer lab, down the stairs to the right.

The Poughkeepsie City School District will hold its August High School Graduation Ceremony 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Jane Bolin Administration Building, 18 S. Perry St.
The ceremony is being held at the administration building’s board room on the building’s bottom floor due to construction inside the high school building.
We’re so proud of each of our graduates and the effort put forth to reach this momentous day. We look forward to celebrating with all of them, as well as family, friends and others welcome to attend.

🎉 That's a wrap on our Transition to High School Summer Program at Marist University!

On our fifth and final day, students enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the Dining Hall, took a scenic stroll to the Marist Boathouse, and celebrated an incredible week with a fun-filled trip to Spins Bowling in Poughkeepsie! 🎳

Throughout the week, our students built new friendships, explored the Marist campus, strengthened their confidence, and developed skills to help them prepare for a successful transition to high school.

A big thank you to our students, families, staff, and Marist University for making this week such a memorable experience. We are so proud of all that our students accomplished and can't wait to see all they achieve in the year ahead.

🌟 Day 4 of the Marist LPP Transition to High School at Marist University! 🌟

Today was packed with teamwork, friendly competition, and lots of fun! Students put their skills to the test in a toilet paper rollup race, Water Budget Relay Race, cooled off during an exciting game of Water Balloon Dodgeball, and wrapped up the day with Final Jeopardy, where they had one last chance to earn stickers for their teams.

After four days of challenges and collaboration, Team Evergreen (Green Team) came out on top, earning the most stickers and taking home 1st place! 🎉💚 Congratulations to all of our teams for their hard work, enthusiasm, and team spirit throughout the week.

Tomorrow is the final day of our Transition to High School Summer Program, and we're ending on a high note with a trip to Spins Bowling! 🎳 We can't wait to celebrate an amazing week together.

🎉Marist LPP Transition to High School Day 3! 🎉

What an exciting day on the Marist University campus! Our students stayed active, creative, and connected through a variety of fun team-building activities.

📸 Teams explored campus during a photo scavenger hunt, putting their communication and problem-solving skills to the test.

🏃‍♀️ The energy was high during relay races in the Cabaret, where teamwork and encouragement were on full display!

🎨 Students also took time to reflect on their goals by creating inspiring vision boards before wrapping up the day with a hands-on STEM activity, making homemade lava lamps! 🌋✨

Day 2 of the Marist University LPP Transition to High School Summer Program was a success! 🌧️🎨

A little rainy weather wasn't going to stop our students from having a fun and meaningful day! Today, students explored healthy coping skills and learned strategies they can use as they prepare for the transition to high school.

They also got creative by decorating flower pots, put their teamwork and observation skills to the test during our LPP Flame Sneaky Scavenger Hunt around the Student Center, and ended the afternoon by relaxing together with a showing of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Every day brings new opportunities to learn, connect, and build confidence. We can't wait to see what Day 3 has in store! ❤️🔥
