"Creating pathways to stability by providing access to food, social services, and education."

We had a great visit with our partners KACS (Kennett Area Community Services) last week! Chief Executive Officer Julie Bensen hosted Foxwynd for a wonderful tour of their new facility space and offered deeper insight into their work in Southern Chester County.

We are honored to have supported KACS in their recent expansion, helping them serve individuals and families in need and provide them with increased opportunities, stability, and resources for growth. Congratulations on such an exciting achievement, and thank you for your hospitality.

Trustees Sherri and Dr. Paul Clark had a truly unforgettable meeting with Javier and Mario from Misión Huascarán in Peru!

The Huascarán Mission aims to transform the lives of rural communities in Áncash through education. Based in the mountains of Peru, they work alongside rural communities to promote holistic development through health, education, and nutrition. Our Trustees met with team members in Miraflores, Peru for a lovely meal and discussion about their work.

Thank you so much, United Way of Pennsylvania, for welcoming Foxwynd's Executive Director Pam Villagra at today's Workforce Stability & Economic Mobility Summit.

This event focused on advocacy and systemic change for ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) populations- a major focus for the Foxwynd Foundation. Pam was welcomed as a panelist alongside Program Officer of Vanguard-Strong Start for Kids, Chinwe Onyekere, and President of Justemere Foundation Lori Cushmere on the "Funders Perspectives" event panel. Moderated by CEO of United Way PA Kristen Rotz, she was grateful for the opportunity to speak and share with incredible policymakers, corporate partners, nonprofits, and other community changemakers.

Thank you for not only welcoming Foxwynd to such a wonderful event, but for allowing us to share our perspective as a family foundation. We remain passionate about building pathways to more possibilities for our ALICE populations alongside our partners at United Way!

We are proud to announce our partnership with YWCA York, who was recently awarded a $12,500 grant to support the development of its new Victim Services Career & Resource Center!

YWCA York is a nonprofit organization with the mission of eliminating racism and empowering women since 1891. The funding for this center will provide survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other crimes with workforce development services and resources that promote long-term economic stability and independence.

As our Executive Director Pamela Villagra said, "We believe every survivor deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life with dignity and confidence. We are honored to support this initiative, which will provide practical tools, valuable resources, and new opportunities to help survivors strengthen their skills, pursue employment, and build a more hopeful future."

Open Hearts for Orphans was the recent, well-deserving recipient of a $20,000 grant award from the Foxwynd Foundation to expand its Downright Lovable program - an initiative dedicated to increasing the adoption of children with Down syndrome throughout the US!

Open Hearts for Orphans provides hope for vulnerable children through adoption assistance, medical care, and basic needs support in the United States and around the world. The Downright Lovable adoption grant was created to remove barriers that often prevent families from moving forward with adoption while raising awareness of the incredible value, dignity, and potential of children with Down syndrome.

"Adoption transforms lives not only for the child, but for every family that opens its heart and home. We are proud to support Open Hearts for Orphans as they remove financial barriers and help more families provide children with Down syndrome the opportunity to thrive,” says Gloria Galvez, Grant & Partnership Manager for the Foxwynd Foundation.

We proud to announce our partnership with Faith Aid through the Foxwynd Fellowship Program! Forged by Trustee Dr. Paul Clark, this three-year, $135,000 Fellowship award will help expand Mustard Seed House Tenwek, dramatically increasing access to life-saving medical care for patients and caregivers traveling to AGC Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya.

When fully developed in 2028, the campus will accommodate up to 250 patients and caregivers every night, serving tens of thousands of African patients and their families each year. The partnership continues Dr. Clark's and Foxwynd's longstanding commitment to supporting patients and families receiving care at Tenwek Hospital and removing healthcare barriers for some of East Africa's most vulnerable people.

"Access to healthcare is about more than medical treatment. When patients and their families have a safe place to stay during difficult times, they can focus on healing with greater dignity and hope. We are grateful to partner with Faith Aid in expanding that support for communities served by Tenwek Hospital." said Dr. Paul Clark.

We had a lovely site visit with our partners Gift of Life Howie's House yesterday! Executive Director Pamela Villagra and Grant & Partnerships Manager Gloria Galvez got to take a in-person look at their wide range of transplant-related care.

Gift of Life Howie’s House provides affordable lodging, meals, and supportive services to transplant patients and families traveling to Philadelphia for life-saving medical care. By reducing financial and emotional burdens through housing, food security, transportation and mental health resources, the House provides direct access to critical medical care, acting as a beacon of hope for communities in need.

We were graciously hosted by President & CEO Richard Hasz, Senior Director Talia Giordano, Director of House Operations Jaeson Howard, and Communications Coordinator Abigail Wells on our tour of their facilities. The team also got a close look at their new transport van, whose purchase was aided by our Foxwynd grant partnership!

Our Executive Director Pamela Villagra had the true honor of meeting and spending the day with AGC Tenwek Hospital CEO, Ben Siele and his wife Emmi, visiting us from Kenya!

Established in 1937, Tenwek Hospital is a 400-bed teaching and referral hospital offering surgical, medical, maternity, and pediatric services. It is Kenya's largest Mission Hospital and is intertwined with both of Trustee Dr. Paul Clark's Fellowship selects: Friends of Tenwek and Faith Aid. Running any hospital is exceedingly complex, even more so when facing the unique geographical challenges in rural Kenya. These fellowship partnerships are focused on advancing the facilities of Tenwek Hospital- a new operating room, uninterrupted power supply, and other necessary medical equipment.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have met Ben and Emmi in person and to hear firsthand about the work and renovations taking place at Tenwek Hospital. Thank you for joining Pam yesterday and for your incredible leadership as CEO, Ben.

We had a wonderful attending and sponsoring Chester County United Way’s 2026 “Live United in Music” event last night!

Foxwynd Trustees Rene Bentley, Sherri and Paul Clark, their daughter Maddie Clark, Executive Director Pamela Villagra, and Grant & Partnerships Manager Gloria Galvez all had a great night participating in the evening’s festivities, including their live auction, live performance from Kelsie Watts, and more. At the heart of the event, however, was philanthropy- all funds directly supported Chester County United Way’s Community Impact & Innovation Fund, addressing issues related to finaical stability and self sufficiency for ALICE populations.

Congratulations on such a successful evening! The Foxwynd Foundation is honored to have been a part of it again this year.
