Postville FFA had a great 98th Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference! On Monday and Tuesday, 17 Postville FFA Members attended the 98th Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference in Ames! Members competed in Career Development Events and FFA Knowledge Quizzes, participated in the State Talent Show and Band, helped package meals to be donated to food pantries across the country, as well as heard from speakers to broaden their leadership and service skills. Thank you to Russ and Sara White for joining our chapter as chaperones for the trip! Congratulations to the following individuals for their hard work over the past two days! We are still waiting on full results outside of the top 3 for the Knowledge Quizzes!

We are so excited for the Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference, April 19-21! Congratulations to two of our members who will share their musical talents at SLC!

Olivia Enyart has been selected to perform an original song she wrote in the Iowa FFA Talent competition on Monday, April 20! She will perform at approximately 10:24 AM on that day.

Toryn Timp has been selected to perform in the Iowa FFA Band for the second year in a row! Toryn, along with the rest of the Iowa FFA Band will perform on Tuesday, April 21 during the 3rd and 4th General Sessions.

Congratulations to these two members for their dedication to their talents and we wish them the best of luck at the Iowa FFA SLC!

Postville FFA members had a great day at Northeast District Convention yesterday at East Buchanan, Winthrop! Eleven members competed in Public Speaking, Chapter Program, Discovery Quiz, Greenhand Quiz, Chapter Quiz, and Farm Business Management Quiz.

Results from the day include:
Chapter Program: Madelyn Connell and Toryn Timp (Silver Rating)
Public Speaking: Isabelle White (Silver)
Discovery Test: Laramie Schultz (Gold 2nd Place) and Zayden Zieman (Gold 3rd Place)
Greenhand Test: Lauren White (Gold 2nd Place), Bradley Enyart (Silver), and Braylon Guese (Silver)
Chapter Test: Isabella Koenig (Silver)
Farm Business Management Test: Addison Bentley and Cameron Moeller (Bronze)

We are incredibly proud of the dedication these students showed to prepare and for their hard work at districts!

Remember to bring in your food donations for our Food Drive this week! Donations accepted until Friday!

We will also be hosting our February FFA Meeting Thursday (2/26), at 6:00 PM with Ag Olympics to follow! Any student grades 6-12 with interest in joining FFA is welcome to attend our meeting and Ag Olympics to learn more about FFA!

Our chapter kicked off National FFA Week with Sub-District Leadership Development Events at Starmont today! 13 FFA members competed in 6 LDEs! Isabelle White (Public Speaking) and Madelyn Connell & Toryn Timp (Chapter Program) advanced to Districts March 7 at East Buchanan! Congratulations to all of our members for their hard work!

In need of some new Postville FFA apparel? We are excited to launch an apparel store! A wide selection of T-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, and many more items available! The online store will be open now through March 1, at midnight!

Apparel orders will be delivered to the high school and distributed from there around March 20.

On Wednesday, five Postville FFA members' applications for the prestigious Iowa FFA Degree were approved! The Iowa FFA Degree is the highest honor a member can receive in the Iowa FFA Association. Less than 5% of FFA members in the state earn this degree. These FFA members will be awarded their Iowa FFA Degrees in April at the Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference!

Also on Wednesday, two Postville FFA members interviewed before the District Nominating Committee for spots on the Northeast District Officer Team ballot. We are extremely proud of Isabelle White and Isabella Koenig for pursuing this opportunity to grow as leaders!
