Fayette County Conservation will lead a hike on the 3rd Thursday of each month, kicking off in March and ending in October.

Each hike will take place in a different county park and focus on a different topic, such as spring wildflowers or birding. 🌸🐦

🌞 Summer Camps 2026 are coming! 🌿

Fayette County Conservation is gearing up for another season of outdoor exploration, hands-on learning, and unforgettable adventures!

Our camps give kids the chance to connect with nature, build confidence, and discover the wonders of the outdoors through fun, immersive activities.

📅 Camp Dates by Grade Level entering Fall 2026:
June 9–11: 1st–2nd Grade
June 16–18: 3rd–4th Grade
June 23–25: 5th–6th Grade

⏰Camp Times: 10am-2pm
📍Camp Location: Gilbertson Nature Center and Campground, Elgin

Each session is packed with teamwork, discovery, and plenty of outdoor fun. If your child loves exploring, creating, and getting a little muddy, this is the place to be.

Waukon St. Paddy’s Day Celebration originally scheduled for this Sunday, March 15 has been postponed.

📅 NEW DATE: Sunday, March 22

We look forward to celebrating with everyone next weekend in Waukon! Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Don't miss the fun in West Union!

It’s time to strike up the fun (and the pins) as West Union Main Street Chamber hosts its annual 9-Pin Mulligan Bowling Tournament Saturday, March 14, at the Lilac Lanes Bowling Center in West Union.

As in year’s past, the annual fundraiser will include three shifts of bowlers. The first bowling ball is scheduled to be tossed at 1 p.m. March 14. Children and families will receive preference when reserving for the first shift. The second and third shifts of bowling will follow at 4 and 7 p.m., respectively. Registration is at noon.

Preregistration for the event is required by Friday, March 6. Additional information can be read in today's Union.
