Foster Meeeeee!

Hey, it's me Ferny!

I've been with my foster mom for awhile now. I had a big eye surgery, and I really feel better. Now, my mouth is still a little sore so she says I have to have another surgery! Geez...I really don't want to do that. But, she says I'll feel even better after that. So, I guess I'll do that if I have to.

Anyways, I was hoping to find a new place to hang out for awhile. I really love attention, and just want someone to spend time with meeeee! I'm a good boy, I promise!

If you know anyone that would want to hang out with me for a little while I get surgery and recover, let my foster mom know!

XOXO
Ferny

Ferny showed up at the shelter back in March with scabies, and his eyes were very irritated. His scabies improved, but his eyes did not get better. We rescued him and found out he needed surgeries on both eyes. He had entropions, where his eyelids were rubbing against his eyes. This was a very painful condition. He had that corrected, and now he needs a dental to get his mouth cleaned up.

We'd love to find a place for him to hang out while he waits for his surgery and recovers afterwards. We will supply everything for him! He's located in Cocoa now, but can hang out farther away too!

He's about 4 years old, up to date on shots, and neutered.

Message us here or text 321-431-7225 for more info on him!

When we rescued Huddle,we knew he had a diaphragmatic hernia. His small intestine and liver were pushed up into his chest area. He was lethargic, and barely eating.

And, within a few days of his rescue, his bloodwork also showed that he could have FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). Having this and getting the hernia repaired at the same time was risky...but, necessary for him to have a chance at life.

His surgery went well, but his recovery was TOUGH. While he ate for a day or two after the surgery, he quickly went downhill. He showed signs of digestion issues. He made several visits to the ER, but doctors weren't able to figure out what was wrong. Luckily, Dr Nancy was able to do some research and found some meds that helped his tummy feel better. We also implemented FIP meds.

And, within a few days, we noticed a big improvement. He began eating, drinking and playing!

We are excited to say that all of his bloodwork numbers are within the normal ranges, and he's officially ready for adoption!

Huddle is a gentle giant (look at his paws!) He's abour 2 years old, up to date on shots, neutered and FIV/FELV negative.

He's located in Cocoa, Florida.
Message here for more info on him or text 321-431-7225.

Huddle was originally rescued back in February with a hernia. Bloodwork also showed markers for FIP, a disease that once was 95% fatal. We treated him, and now he's ready for adoption!

For over 6 years, Mimi was a huge part of our rescue. She fought many health battles so fiercely, from skin issues to eye issues to liver issues. We did everything we could think of to help her overcome these things, including lots of specialist visits and giving her lots of love.

Ultimately, her journey ended in October when her liver shut down. She could no longer fight, so we had to let her go.

She's been gone for 7 months. It still feels like just yesterday that she came sauntering over from her favorite cat bed for some pets, or that she stood by the door, meowing for her next meal (she LOVED to eat!)

Mimi took a piece of our hearts when she left. She'll forever be a part of our rescue and rescue efforts...past, present and future ā™„ļø

Run free Mimi, free from pain in a place where there's only love and lots of treats 🌈

Mimi was originally taken to the shelter back in the summer of 2019. Her family surrendered her as they couldn't afford to get her to the vet anymore for her health concerns. Her skin was very irritated and she became very sick at the shelter. We rescued her and got her into foster care. There, we worked with her to resolve her skin issues. We eventually got her skin under control by going to the dermatologist who treated her for her many allergies, but she later began to lose weight. She was diagnosed with an abnormal liver and dilated bile ducts. She was given a 10% chance of survival back in February of 2022. After that, we struggled to get her skin allergies back under control. Some other issues arose, including complications with her eyes from the medicines she was taking. She fought very hard but lost her battle back in October of 2025 when her liver stopped working.

(We made this collage to send to her dermatology office, and realized we never shared it here!ā™„ļø)

ā¤ļøADOPT MEEEā¤ļø Meet little Oats, an 11 week old kitten part of the the ā€œOrmond PD 4ā€ litter!
And - can you believe this??! Not one application for the little lad!!?? Like what??😩

Oats is a LOVER boy and super social. He would thrive in an active home home with kids and other pets, can be held with ease, enjoys sleeping in your bed, loves to play, and loves his wet cat food.

Their story:
A pregnant mama cat showed up at the Ormond Beach Police Department to give birth, but the kittens were not discovered until they were around 4 weeks old. Randie Zimmerman was able to get mama safely spayed through TNR and the kittens into foster care — which is when our rescue was called to help.

Please reach out if you are interested in adopting little Oats…

He’ll be waiting…..meooooooowww

During our recent spay/neuter day, Glow’s family let us know that they needed to return her to our rescue. Unfortunately, she is no longer thriving in their home environment. Since one of the children is now being homeschooled, the household dynamics have changed, creating a stressful situation for her.

We’re grateful that her family reached out to us and put her well-being first. While we weren’t able to take her back that same day, we were able to do so this day, which was only a few days later.

Even though it’s been many months since she left our care, Glow showed us just how sweet she is and is adjusting better than we expected.
We know the perfect home is out there for her, and we’re committed to helping her find a place where she can truly flourish.

A little recap of Glow’s story:

Someone I work with shared that their ex-partner was struggling with a serious cat overpopulation situation—16 cats living in a small apartment. 😳 After connecting them with resources to get all 6 cats fixed, we then took in all 10 kittens and placed them for adoption. šŸ™Œ

Stories like Glow’s remind us why rescue work matters. Sometimes a placement doesn’t work out, and that’s okay. What’s important is making sure each animal ends up in the environment that’s right for them. All of our rescues have a safe place back with us- always!

Cat located in this city: South Daytona, FL
Cat’s Name: Maui

Cat’s Age & S*x: At least 1 yr old Male
(likely older but we don’t know for sure)

Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): Maui was spayed and vaccinated on 5/20/26 as part of a TNR effort but we knew from the first time we met him that he was friendly and adoptable so he has a microchip instead of a tipped ear. He’s also been treated for fleas and dewormed.

Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): This gentle giant (16lbs of solid muscle!) was found living outside a local extended stay hotel but he’s just too friendly to stay outside.

Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Maui is one cool cat! He’s one of the most unique and impressive male cats we’ve ever seen. He is a beautiful tux with some scars that we like to call his ā€œtattoosā€ just like Maui from the movie Moana. Or maybe he’s even more like the actor who played him-Dwayne Johnson, ā€œThe Rock,ā€ if he were a cat. :-)

Maui is NOT shy-he’s almost immediately friendly, loving, gentle, chatty (don’t be late with the food because this guy LOVES to eat and he’s not afraid to tell you when he’s peckish!!) He is just the sweetest guy and we want him to have the best indoor life with some humans who will finally give him the love and peace he deserves.
If you can’t see it here -copy and paste this YouTube link into your browser to see a video of him!

https://youtube.com/shorts/k_GL7q_UARE?feature=shared

We did have him tested while in the clinic and he is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) so ideally, he would be a single cat. (While there's no cure, FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy lives with proper indoor care, a balanced diet, and regular vet check-ups to manage opportunistic infections.)

Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): Some food, favorite toys to help with the transition (he loves his catnip banana!)

What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Maui thinks he’s bulking up for the World’s Strongest Cat competition and loves his wet food…A LOT. He has been eating mainly wet food since he’s been inside.

:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).
:::::::::::: More info here: FurryNationSalvation.Org/wetfood
IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT:
1) Please show up with a cat carrier.
2) Small adoption fee of: $20
3) We will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well.
4) Please show up with your Driver's License.
5) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine).
*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.

Cat located in this city: South Daytona, FL

Cat’s Name: Bluebelle

Cat’s Age & S*x: Approx 1 yr old female

Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped):
Bluebelle was spayed and vaccinated as part of a TNR effort on 5/13/26 so she has a little left ear tip. (We didn’t know she was so friendly!)

Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): This little blue beauty was found living outside a local extended stay hotel and was abandoned . we realized she LOVES being inside and LOVES being petted and knew we had to get her off the streets.. Now we want to find a loving, relaxed inside home environment where she can continue to thrive.

Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Bluebelle may be a little shy at first but allowed us to pet her almost immediately during her recovery. Within just a couple weeks, she allowed us to pick her up and carry her around like a baby. What a sweetheart!
Here is a video on YouTube. If you can’t see it here just copy and paste this link into your browser.
https://youtube.com/shorts/FusfsHjeswA?feature=shared

She’s in a home with other cats and has made ā€œunder door contactā€ but no direct contact yet. It seems like she’ll do well with a continued gentle intro (see below).

At this point in her life, she’s looking for a quiet place to call home, where she can choose to wander around or just take some quiet naps in a sunny window.

Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): Some food, favorite toys to help with the transition.

What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Bluebelle loves her wet food and has been eating mainly wet food since she’s been inside.
