Poquoson's Lucas Hatok Drives In 4 Runners In Post 273 Seniors 19U's Victory Over Post 284 Buccaneers

Lucas Hatok drove in four runs on two hits to lead Post 273 Seniors past Post 284 Buccaneers 16-0 on Sunday. Hatok doubled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring one.

Post 273 won thanks in part to nine runs in the third inning. Devin Gray grounded out, scoring two runs, Cooper Bush drew a walk, scoring one run, Cameron Eicher drew a walk, scoring one run, Hatok doubled, scoring three runs, Joey Chwalik drew a walk, scoring one run, and Gray drew a walk, scoring one run.

Post 273 got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Bush walked, Eicher singled down the right field line, Noah Rivera grounded into a fielder's choice, and Chwalik was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.

Post 273 added one run in the second. Ashton Green singled to left field, making the score 5-0.

Eicher stepped on the mound first for Post 273. The 6' 5" hurler allowed six hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking none. James Luck started on the bump for Post 284 Buccaneers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and five runs over two innings, striking out one and walking four. Green pitched one inning of scoreless ball for Post 273 in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking two.

Hatok and Connor Lamb each collected two hits for Post 273. Post 273 had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 16 walks for the game. Chwalik, Bush, Eicher, Benjamin Bly, Gray, Lamb, and Green led the team with two bases on balls each. Rivera, Gray, and Green each stole multiple bases for Post 273. Post 273 stole seven bases in the game.

Grant Williams led Post 284 Buccaneers with two hits in three at bats.

Next up for Post 273 is a game against the reigning National Champion Chesapeake SEALs Post 280 on Wednesday. First pitch is 6:30pm, admission is free, concessions (CashApp or Cash accepted) on site and fun everywhere. Hope y'all can turn out and walk some great baseball.

Holloway-Moore Post 273 Seniors 19U Baseball Team Starts Out Hot For Game 1 of the Sunday Double Header.

Sunday June 21st was hot and humid here in Poquoson but that did not stop the Post 273 team from getting hot with the bats and gloves as the season started with a double header against Post 284 out of Colonial Heights.

GHS Cooper Bush was dominant on the mound, as the right-handed pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in Post 273 Seniors 19U's 10-0 victory over Post 284 Buccaneers on Sunday for Game 1. Bush allowed zero hits and zero runs over six innings while walking two. Cooper also started the offense in the first inning after a single driving in VPCC Devin Gray from third base for one run.

Post 273 won thanks in part to six runs in the fourth inning. Cooper led off with a double followed by PHS Lucas Hatok whose single brought in Cooper. PHS Joey Chwalik followed that up with a triple, scoring Lucas for another run, THS Noah Rivera kept the hit parade going by driving a ball to center to score Joey from third. Noah steals second to get into scoring position for MHS Cameron Eicher who hits a double into right field, scoring Noah, Cam advances to third on a wild pitch to Devin Gray. Devin gets walked as does BHS Connor Lamb loading the bases for Benjamin Bly who draws a walk, scoring Cam, and a wild pitch scores Devin.

Evan McKinney opened the game for the Post 284 Buccaneers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking none.

Post 273 amassed 10 hits in the game. Poquoson's Lucas Hatok provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Post 273 with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Chwalik, Bush, and HHS Ashton Green each collected two hits for Post 273. Post 273 had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Benjamin Bly and Connor Lamb led the team with two bases on balls each.
