Celebrate a birthday, milestone, team, teacher, or other special occasion with a VRA Spirit Rock rental for just $30!

You’ll have two options for decorating:

🎨 Paint at home: Create your design on contact paper, then attach it to the rock.
🖌️ Paint directly: Paint your design right onto the Spirit Rock.

Painting is available for an additional:

• $30 for a contact-paper design
• $40 to have the rock painted directly

💙💚 LEVELING UP TO PLATINUM! 💚💙

We are SO excited to welcome back our longtime friends at Code Ninjas - Ponte Vedra — this year as a PLATINUM LEVEL VRA Business Partner! ✨

Code Ninjas - Ponte Vedra has been a wonderful supporter of our VRA community for several years, and having them continue to invest in our Hawks means so much to us. Partnerships like these help our PTO do more, give more, and create even more opportunities and experiences for our students and staff throughout the year.

And Code Ninjas knows a thing or two about creating opportunities for kids! 💻🎮 Through coding, game development, robotics and more, they make learning technology FUN while helping kids build creativity, confidence and some seriously cool skills along the way. 🥷

We are incredibly grateful to have flying alongside us at the Platinum Level this year!

But before we go… we’ll just leave this little Easter Egg right here. 🥚👀

Our friends at Code Ninjas may have something VERY special planned exclusively for our VRA community later this school year…

💻 Coding will be involved.

Student Advisory Council Announcement from Parent Square:

Dear VRA Families and Community Partners,

Are you interested in taking an active role in shaping our school's future? We are currently seeking dedicated parents, guardians, and local community members to serve on our School Advisory Council (SAC) for the upcoming school year!

What is the School Advisory Council?

Under Florida law (F.S. § 1001.452), every public school has a SAC made up of the school's principal, teachers, educational support staff, parents, and local business/community leaders.

Together, the SAC serves as an advisory body responsible for:

-School Improvement: Helping prepare, monitor, and evaluate our annual School Improvement Plan (SIP).
-Resource Allocation: Advising decisions related to school budget priorities and deciding how state school improvement funds are used to best support student achievement.
-Community Voice: Representing the diverse perspectives of our school community in key decision-making processes.

What is Expected of SAC Members?

-Time Commitment: Attend our monthly meetings, which typically last about 45-50 minutes on 6 Mondays throughout the year (commitment to 4 is required)
-Representation: Engage in constructive discussions, share ideas, and vote on key council decisions.

How to Express Interest:

If you are interested in holding a parent position or serving as a community representative, please fill out our quick Valley Ridge Academy School Advisory Council (SAC) Interest Form – Fill out form by September 4th.

Happy Sunday VRA families,

I hope everyone had a great week and enjoyed the Back to School Bash on Friday evening. We have so many wonderful business partners and supporters this year helping make VRA the best K-8 in SJC. If anyone knows or has a business that would like to join us please reach out to our amazing PTO- we love seeing new faces at our family events!

This week starts our curriculum nights - please see the poster below to find your grade's information. These are very informative presentations by the grade level teachers. We hope you will join us to learn about this year's events, testing, and the expectations for the year.

I wanted to remind parents about a few things we have noticed as we start the school year:

*Toys should not be brought to school, unless it is for an assignment and the teacher has asked the students to bring something in to class. We are seeing many toys- even in middle school (squishy toys, rubik's cubes, etc). If students are playing with them in class during instruction it can cause a disruption for others. Please remind students to keep these items at home.

*Appropriate shoes for PE... please be sure your student has appropriate shoes for PE, we are seeing elementary students with shoes without backs on days they have PE. While students may wear any shoe to school, we do worry about students running at recess and PE without proper shoes. Thank you for your support and help with these two things.

Don't forget this weekend we celebrate Labor Day and there is no school on Monday. My newsletter next week will come out on Monday, instead of Sunday. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and we look forward to seeing you "on the Ridge."

There is something extra special about welcoming back a business partner who is also part of our VRA family!

We are so excited to welcome Woodard Pools back for another year of partnership and support of Valley Ridge Academy! Their continued commitment to our school is another wonderful example of what happens when our families, local businesses, and community come together for our kids.

For more than 50 years, Woodard Pools has been helping families make a splash with beautiful new pools, pool maintenance and service, supplies, patios, and more — with a local location right here in Ponte Vedra! 💦☀

❤️📣 CALLING ALL VRA DADS & KIDS — ALL PRO DAD IS BACK! 📣❤️

Some of the most important things we give our kids don’t come wrapped in a box.

Our time. Our attention. Our presence.

That’s what All Pro Dad is all about. ❤️

We are incredibly excited to kick off another year of All Pro Dad at VRA — a monthly opportunity for dads and kids to slow down, sit together, have some fun, and strengthen one of the most important relationships in their lives.

The idea is simple: one hour a month.

One hour to eat breakfast together.
One hour to laugh and participate in activities.
One hour to have conversations we might not always make time for during the rush of everyday life.
One hour to remind our kids, “You matter. I’m here. And this time is for you.”

And we can’t wait to get started! 🙌
